“Well, I could, but I’m drunk.” Jacob tossed back the rest of his Macallan and took a few steps away from the bar. “What do you want?”

“You haven’t answered any of my messages for two weeks.”

It’s true. He’d been avoiding his brother, which was something he never did. The two of them were very close, but this news had thrown him.

What was he supposed to do? Just reach across the fucking table at his brother’s wedding lunch, shake his birth father’s hand, and say, double welcome to the family, Pa.

Fuck off.

He was furious with his mother for telling him at such a public event. She loved her boys; he had no doubt about that. But when it came to dealing with uncomfortable things, she would rather bury her head in the sand.

That was selfish. Especially when it came to your children. Everyone had been very uncomfortable, not to mention it was supposed to be a celebration for Blake and Bella.

Instead, it had ended the celebrations early, and he had walked out.

“Mom’s worried,” Blake said.

“Mom can go fuck herself,” he spat out, his anger rising to the surface.

Need more whisky.

“Jacob,” Blake replied firmly.

“No, don’t ‘Jacob’ me. I need time to process this,” he growled.

“By drinking and fucking every day and every night?” Blake accused.

Well, it wasn’t an accusation as much as it was the truth. He’d been at Sailors every night for two weeks.

Shit, that isn’t good.

“Yeah, if I want to. I just found out who my father is. And he’s your father-in-law. And lives just down the fucking road, Blake. Down the fucking road for over twenty-three years.”

“I know. Fuck. If you would answer your damn phone or invite me over, we could talk it out.”

Jacob could hear the concern in his brother’s voice as guilt flushed through him. He pressed his eyes closed and pinched his nose. “I need to deal with this my way.”

A threesome should do it.

“Come by for lunch tomorrow.” Blake invited. “I’ll get sushi and, shit, I’ll even let you flirt with Leilani.”

Now that got his attention.

Blake's PA was one hot piece of ass. Every time he visited, he couldn’t help but make her blush with one or two of his cheeky comments. Leilani tried really hard to act professionally and show she wasn’t attracted to him in return, but she was.

Even better, it irritated his brother.

Blake cared for his employees, so every wink and inappropriate comment got right under his skin.

Talk about kill two birds with one stone.

He might love his brother, but you know what they say about sibling rivalry.

Jacob’s lips stretched into a smile. “Wow. Desperate times.”

“So, I’ll see you at lunch?” Blake ignored his prod.

Jacob let out a long sigh.
