I flip onto my belly and gently kick my legs. “Safe to talk yet?” I whisper low.

“Clear, yes,” he growls while adjusting the scope.

“If you have a hit, the cameras will see us coming in and out of this place.”

“The system is down for maintenance.” He turns and stalks over to me.

“How convenient.” I let one of my legs sway to either side, teasing him.

He grabs me hard by the ankle, and whips me to the foot of the bed, making me yelp.

“I want to show you something.”

Chapter 17

Alessia

Leandro grabs me by the collar of my blouse, and I have no idea what to think. His eyes are hardened stone, almost inhuman.

“What do you want to show me?” I shudder, shaking off the heat.

He positions himself behind me and pinches my shoulder like he’s about to give an extra-hard massage, then guides me forward toward the rifle stationed on the desk, pointed at the window.

My mind is racing. Does he want me to pull the trigger for him? Is he going to force me to become a killer?

“Put your eye to the scope and tell me what you see.”

I do as I’m told.

The feel of his breath prickles my neck, making my mouth part ever-so-slightly. It’s like I’m being inspected by a wolf in the wild. My vision trembles as I try to focus.

He nearly leans over me, and I can feel his hard cock pressing against my backside.

Oh my God, is he finally going to give in?

My grip loosens around the rifle, and the naughty side of me takes over, pushing my ass ever so lightly into him to offer up some pressure. He grunts, and it almost sounds painful as much as pleasurable. I know he’s fighting every part of himself to take me right here. I want him to lose.

Take me, Leandro, I tell him with my body.

“What do you see out there?” his voice rumbles.

There’s a handful of people entering the convention center in suits, but that’s not where my mind is.

The pressure of his big hands against my abdomen makes me weak.

“What?” I whisper.

He goes lower, to the button on my jeans, and flicks it open effortlessly. Every cell in my body is buzzing as he rips down my pants.

“Eyes forward,” he commands. “Tell me what you see.” His fingertips brush down my legs, and I can feel him exhaling as he drinks me in.

“I—” My breath hitches when he grips one of my legs with all ten of his claws and briskly moves it so I’m spread wide. My toes curl as his grip loosens. “Two men,” I say, trying to keep on task. “Navy blue suit and grey suit. One is—tall.” I pause as his fingers crawl up to my inner thigh. He’s on his knees, his breath warming my bare leg. “Blonde hair. He’s giving his ticket to the doorman.”

“Mm,” he grunts. “That doorman is going to be a problem.”

I tense. It’s because he’s going to snipe someone. I’m going to be an accessory to murder.

I shake my head and put my legs back together. “I can’t be part of this, Leandro.”
