“Whatever you say to me will always remain between you and me,” Chase promised. He hoped he could keep that promise.

For lunch, they grabbed a baguette, some cheese, and, of course, some wine. They found a sunny spot on the grass and enjoyed their meal in the middle of one of Paris's many gorgeous gardens.

Admiring the way the sun kissed Levi’s soft, exposed skin, Chase couldn’t help but wonder about this beautiful creature. He appeared happy and seemed to love what he did for a living, but was it all just an act?

Over the years, working as a police officer, Chase had come to see many faces wearing many different masks. Some wore masks for protection, some wore masks for acceptance, while others wore masks for misdirection.

It was this last group that you had to worry about. These were the ones who ended up being criminals or serial killers. Oftentimes, they were people who you never would have suspected. They played the game so well by holding their masks securely in place, never once wavering or showing others what kind of darkness truly lay behind that well-guarded shield.

He hoped that Levi was not one of those people. It would break his heart to see such a bright, shining star go dark and become a black hole of anger and darkness.

Chase poured the last of the wine into Levi’s plastic cup, then tucked the bottle into their bag of garbage.

“So, tell me about your job. What is the worst part about what you do?” Chase figured Levi was going to say, having to sleep with any sleazeball who pulls his dick out.

Laying back on his elbows, Levi stared up at the sun with his eyes closed. Chase began to wonder if Levi had even heard him.

“I guess, I would have to say, making a strong connection with someone, only to have them return home to their family the next day.”

Chase sat there for a moment, stunned. He wasn’t expecting that answer. “What do you mean?”

Turning to face him, Levi perched himself up on one arm and locked eyes with his.

“Over the years, I’ve met some really interesting and sweet guys whom I have come to connect with and even developed feelings for, but time and time again, these men end up returning home to their real lives, leaving their weekend of fantasy behind at La Maison. We become just a distant memory in the back of men’s minds only to be returned to when they grow lonely or want to reminisce of the time they spent exploring their fantasies or heart’s true desires.” Levi looked down at the grass between them. “I guess I just secretly hope that one day I will meet the man of my dreams, and he will want to stay with me longer than just one weekend. Perhaps he will want to spend forever and a day? Silly thought, isn’t it?”

Chase stared at Levi, flabbergasted. His answer was so deep and full of feeling that it broke his heart. How could anyone walk away from someone as sweet and hopeful as the young man lying next to him? It seemed that deep down, the only thing that Levi truly desired was to be loved and cherished—just like any other human being.

Staring at the young man’s strained lips, Chase couldn’t help but feel his heart expand just a bit more. Levi was beginning to get under his skin in more ways than just his looks.

Chase gently moved a few stray hairs away from Levi’s forehead. “You really are a beautiful soul,” Chase whispered. Their eyes locked together, and Chase lost himself in the violet embers that burned in Levi’s wishful eyes.

With such an intense pull between them, Chase couldn’t help but slowly move forward. He watched as Levi licked his lower lip in anticipation. Chase no longer had control over his body. He was caught in the gravitational pull that orbited Levi and loved the feeling of warmth that spread across his body.

The universe seemed to come to a standstill as their lips came together—a perfect fit and pairing. Perhaps this was the universe’s way of telling them that their lips were only created for each other.

Feeling Levi’s lips against his was like nothing he had ever experienced. Waves of emotions crashed over Chase—happiness, hopefulness, tranquility, even sadness at the thought of ever having to part with these perfect lips. Then, of course, came the overwhelming feeling of desire.

Chase felt his cock thicken and press firmly against his jeans. God, kissing this man was the ultimate aphrodisiac. He hoped that the material of his jeans was strong enough to contain the raging hard-on that was pressing against his zipper.

A moan escaped Levi as he took Chase’s hand in his and leaned into their kiss.

There was so much emotion and feeling behind those lips that Chase began to feel overwhelmed. He had never felt so much passion directed his way.

Without thinking, Chase rolled his body onto Levi’s and pinned the boy under the bulky weight of his frame.

Levi let out another gut-wrenching moan. Fuck, this boy didn’t play fair.

“God, you’re so gorgeous,” Chase whispered, brushing Levi’s hair back and staring into his smoldering eyes.

Smiling up at Chase, Levi’s face brightened. It was like staring into the face of a thousand suns. He felt Levi’s warmth spread through his body and into his heart. What was this boy doing to him?

“You’re not so bad yourself, stud. You definitely got the kissing thing down, and I’m loving the way your body feels between my legs.”

Smirking, Chase pushed his pelvis further into Levi’s spread legs, making sure that Levi got to experience the full length and girth of the meat between his legs.

Fuck it, he was crossing so many lines, he really didn’t give a shit anymore. This boy was getting under his skin.

Running his hand along Chase’s firm chest, Levi let out another moan that was all sorts of wicked.
