“Yes, it does.”

Levi could sense the smirk plastered on Chase’s face.

“Your body fits perfectly between my arms.”

Chase was right. The two of them fit perfectly together, almost as if they were made for each other. But that was only fantasy, right? Something that people wrote about in romance novels or poems but never actually experienced in real life.

Feeling totally at peace, Levi closed his eyes and enjoyed the silent bliss.

From behind him, Chase placed his head into the crook of Levi’s neck and inhaled.

There was something primal and animalistic about breathing in your partner’s scent. It was about knowing them. Understanding their uniqueness and making them your own. Their scent, their pheromones, belonged only to you.

He loved the possessiveness of it all. He wanted so badly to belong to someone. To have that person yearn to be with him. To move heaven and hell in order to make it happen.

Levi placed his arm over Chase’s and melted into the man lying behind him. This was heaven. This was bliss. This was where he wanted to be. Always and forever.

CHASE

At different points throughout the night, Chase could feel the boy beside him touching him. At one point, he felt Levi’s hand gently trace the cut on his lip, most likely trying to determine whether the swelling was going down. At another point, Chase felt Levi carefully move a few stray strands of hair away from his eyes. The whole thing was so… sweet.

Each time he felt Levi’s touch, he kept his eyes closed, pretending to be asleep. He didn’t want to startle the boy, and he didn’t want the boy to stop touching him. He loved the intimate contact that Levi so freely gave away. He felt cared for, he felt special, he felt… well, he had never felt such tenderness in someone’s touch before in his life. Not even from the woman who raised him.

When he was just a boy, his parents had given him up for adoption. He never knew why, and he never knew who they were—all he knew was that they had made the decision to give him up.

Just like any other kid given up for adoption, he struggled with his identity growing up. Not knowing your roots or where you come from can often be confusing and isolating. Thankfully, the woman who adopted him at the tender age of six had a daughter of her own. The daughter's name was Madison. She was two years younger and looked up to Chase like he was her natural-born big brother. They were inseparable. Chase had grown into the role of big brother rather quickly, clinging to the only form of human connection he had.

The woman who adopted Chase and gave him a roof over his head was lovely. She was a television executive with a kind heart but an ambitious drive. It was that drive that had the woman working ten to twelve-hour days, often leaving Chase and his little sister alone with nannies and babysitters.

On the rare occasion when Chase was able to get quality time with his adoptive mother, it was usually spent helping him with his studies and teaching him the value of hard work and determination. He didn’t hate his mother; he just wished that perhaps she had been a little more forthcoming with the love that she showed toward him.

Staring at the sleeping beauty lying next to him, Chase wished he could stop the sun from rising. He didn’t want this moment—Levi lying peacefully wrapped in his arms—to ever end. The boy looked so at ease. So beautiful.

Carefully, Chase leaned forward and kissed the side of Levi’s temple.

The boy had come into his room last night to tend to his wounds and make sure that he was alright. He didn’t have to. In fact, most people who find out that their date has been lying to them usually tend to spend the night ignoring them and wishing for their death. But instead, Levi showed kindness and compassion, worrying about his well-being. It was a rare person indeed who would act so selflessly.

He couldn’t help himself. He leaned in again and, this time, kissed him on the side of his eye.

A cute little smile spread across Levi’s face before his body began to lengthen as he stretched, and the sweetest little yawn escaped him.

“Mmm, now that’s how everyone should wake up each morning.”

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you,” Chase whispered into his ear, tightening his hold on the young man’s body.

Levi caressed his arms and continued to lie there. “What time is it?”

“Not sure. I forgot to plug my phone in before we went to bed last night,” Chase murmured into the crook of Levi’s neck.

“Give me one sec,” Levi said before choking himself against Chase’s firm grip.

“Umm, where do you think you’re going?” Chase asked teasingly, tightening his hold on Levi’s body.

“I’m going to check what time it is, He-Man. Can you release me from your caveman grip for just a sec?” Levi asked, chuckling around his words.

“Your request is too painful. Request denied.”
