The room—if you could call it that—was cold and damp. The small bed he sat on earlier was shoved to one corner of the room with a small dresser standing next to it.
Levi walked over to the dresser and pulled open one of the drawers. There were three pairs of underwear, four pairs of socks, and a box of tissues. He pulled open the second drawer to find a pair of jogging pants, two pairs of jeans, and a selection of sweaters.
Judging by the change of clothing, it didn’t appear that Peabody was planning on letting him go anytime soon. Fighting back another wave of tears, he closed the drawer and began inspecting his surroundings once again.
There was an old Tom Clancy novel sitting on his bed, along with a jug of water and an empty glass sitting on the dresser.
Other than that, the room was bare. How long would it take before he went mad with boredom?
He scanned the walls of his room. Huh, that’s strange. There was no light switch in the cell.
It was at that moment that the lights in all the cells went off. Levi sat in utter darkness, save for a small red glow coming from some emergency lighting out in the hallway.
“Good night, little one,” he heard Simone whisper from across the hall.
It appeared that even their sleep schedule was regulated.
Levi lay down on the bed and pulled the blanket over his shoulder. He curled his body up into a ball, then began to cry himself to sleep.
Of all the ways he imagined his life turning out, becoming a prisoner in some dark and dreary cave was not one of them.
He had escaped one nightmare only to end up in another.

CHASE
What the fuck was he thinking? Chase kept asking himself over and over. Why on earth would he go with Peabody? He knew the dangers he might face. So why? What did he think he was going to do? Take him down with his sarcasm and witty charm? Perhaps knock him unconscious with those seductive eyes of his?
Seriously! What the fuck?!
Chase was both terrified and pissed. Terrified that something could happen to Levi and pissed that the little twerp did something so irresponsible.
Oh, the things he was going to do to that purple-eyed little twink when he got his hands on him. Beat him silly with the length of his cock for starters. Then, perhaps, tie him to the bed, naked and ass up, while he smacks the shit out of that tight little butt of his with his solid piece of meat. Teach that boy that he better listen to Daddy’s instructions the next time he gets some wild idea in his head about playing hero and doing something so stupid.
Seriously? Why the fuck!
Parking at the side of the road, he pulled his gun out of the glove compartment and checked the clip. There were enough bullets in there for what he wanted to do. Two to the knees and one to the shoulder, just enough to incapacitate the old bastard.
He hopped out of the car, eyes blazing, and ran up the long walkway. When he reached the door, he began pounding on it. He was so angry that he felt like he was watching himself from outside of his body.
Rage and anger had taken control of him. Reason and patience had been tied up and thrown into a dark hole somewhere. They were no longer part of his functioning body. His body was now being driven by pure emotion and instinct.
God, help them all.
The front light came on a moment before the front door opened.
“Can I help you, young man?” an older gentleman greeted. Chase instantly recognized him from the photos. He had aged a few years, but it was definitely him.
“Where is he?” Chase growled, pushing past Peabody and charging into the house.
“Hey! You can’t come in here!” the man shouted, slamming the door behind him and rushing after his home invader.
“Levi!” Chase shouted as he stormed through the hallway. At this point, Chase wasn’t even thinking about remaining undercover. His only thought was on Levi and making sure that he was alright.
