Michael nods. "Just give me a second with her."

I sip my tea as Nathan stumbles into the kitchen.

Michael has the baby in a football hold so he can see her face. "Merry Christmas, angel. Yes, it’s your first Christmas. What do you think?" His voice is low and soothing as he talks and makes faces at her. "I love you." He looks back at me. "And I love you."

Michael as a father is strong and steady, as always, our whiskey smooth voice of reason.

Isabel is wearing the graphic onesie and tiny red plaid pants with a knit red cap on her head to keep her warm. Her little fingers are curled up.

"Oh, her sock is coming off." Crew is there in a flash to secure her sock back on her little foot. He kisses her heel first before tugging the cotton sock back up and then makes a goofy face at her. "No cold babies on Daddy three’s watch."

I love how Crew’s face softens when he looks at Isabel. It’s a mixture of awe and adoration. It makes me fall in love with him even more.

I’m falling in love with all three of my husbands deeper and with more appreciation every second I see them spending with our daughter, loving her, caring for her, protecting her.

Nathan returns with a coffee mug in his hand. He’s cradling it and staring out our front window blankly. "It’s snowing," as if the other guys hadn’t just been discussing that.

Michael bends down. "Ready for her?"

"Yes." I take the baby from him and smile at her sweet little face. She’s awake and shifting her head around.

"White Christmas," Crew declares. "The only thing that would make today even better would be if we had that RV."

Nathan gives a sly smile behind his mug.

It immediately makes me suspicious. I catch Michael’s eye but he shrugs.

Then with perfect timing, we hear a horn beep. Crew goes to the window. Immediately, his hands go to his head.

"It’s here," he murmurs, like it’s a Christmas miracle. "The RV." He turns and gives us a grin. "Nate. You sentimental bastard."

Nathan looks incredibly pleased with himself.

Now I’m grinning too. "You didn’t."

"I did."

Michael goes to the window too. "Did you buy this thing?"

"I did. Cookie & Co. tradition, right? That’s what it’s all about. Family and traditions."

"Best. Christmas. Ever," Crew says.

"Best life ever," Michael says.

"Best family ever," Nathan adds.

I snuggle our daughter to my chest.

I couldn’t agree more.

Epilogue

Six Months Later

Nathan

“Come on, come on,” I murmur under my breath. “Just hold them off.” My knee is bouncing up and down and Danielle puts her hand on it.
