Rellick gets back in line for the tower, causing the two of us to laugh. “He is so precious, Bree! What’s his name?”

Should I be answering this random woman’s question? No, probably not. But I just don’t get a weird vibe from her. She seems friendly and genuine. “His name is Rellick.”

“What a cool name! How’d you come up with it?” Josie’s tone insinuated authentic interest.

It’s been a while since anyone showed real interest in me or my son. Besides the Sins. The last person I was close to was my best friend in high school. We were roommates at UNO together before I ruined everything. “Rellick was my father’s name. He died on deployment before I ever got to meet him.”

Her golden eyes filled with sympathy. “That’s a beautiful reason.” Josie places her hand on my shoulder. “My father is gone, too.”

“I’m sorry.” She nods her head in thanks.

Rellick comes up to us once again. “Rellick, this is Ms. Josie. She thought your jumps were really cool.”

“Hi, Ms. Josie. I like your hair!”

“Well, thank you so much!” Her smile dims a bit as she stares off in the distance. A few moments later, it returns though it has a sad turn to it. “I’m really sorry, but I have to go. It was so nice to meet you!” She holds her hand out for another high-five from Rellick.

Turning to me, she holds out a business card to me. “This is my number if you ever need a friend.”

I take the card, inspecting it. It’s white with a yellow symbol on it. The back has the name ‘Jophiel’ with a telephone number under it. I look back up to thank her, but she’s already gone. Looking around, I see her rainbow hair walking out the door.

I turn my focus back to Rellick, but his attention is elsewhere. Following his gaze, I notice a man hugging a small boy close. Rellick has never had a father. I tried to find Rafe, but he wasn’t on social media and no one from the bar knew him. “Mommy?”

Leaning forward, I lift him back onto my hip. “What’s up?”

“Can we go see Bubby, Blue, and Santa? I wanna go find treasure again.”

I thought about it for a second and decided that was a great idea. While we were in Hell, I would steal back my necklace.

Fuck Greed. That necklace was mine.

Brianna ruined everything. Since Brianna came to Hell that first night, I haven’t been able to feed correctly. No amount of time spent in ‘The Den’ can change the fact that I feel dissatisfied with every orgasm built in the building.

The Den is what the humans would refer to as a ‘strip club.’ Sucubi and incubi fill the stages and surrounding areas with arousal for the demons of Hell. They feed off the completion of sex while I feed off the orgasms of both parties. It’s meant to fill my power reservoir… but lately, nothing comes close to how I felt after just two of Brianna’s powerful climaxes.

All my brothers have been to Earth to see her except for Satan and I. Satan won’t go because he prefers Hell. But me? I haven’t gone because of the way she yelled at me. I can’t control the way she reacts to my voice, my touch. Yes, I infused my touch with some power, but only enough to get her to her peak quicker.

I don’t understand her point of view. Her orgasms were great! Briana was practically comatose after each one! Why was it a problem that I used a little power to help her along?

With every orgasm happening around me, I could feel the essence filling my soul, and yet… it wasn’t enough. I don’t think it will ever be enough ever again.

It probably doesn’t help that I beg for scraps of her from my brothers. Nothing compares to the real thing.

Sending out feelers, I search for aura, just to see what she’s doing… I’m not pathetic, I promise.

I feel her surrounded by life, but I can’t make out any specific auras around her. It’s not dimmed but blocked. Only an angel can block their essence.

Immediately, I am up and headed towards the towers. It takes only minutes to find Lucifer in our joint office space, working on a tablet. “How was she?”

My voice in the quiet makes Lucifer jump. “How is who?” he says, still focusing on the tablet.

“Brianna. You were just with her, right?”

The question makes him freeze before turning. His voice is lowered as he says, “explain.”

What does he mean? “I just put out a feeler for her aura…. Everything around her was dimmed, so I assumed you were with her since only angels can hide their presence.”
