Eva had lots of input into the design. As she requested, we added several additional bedrooms downstairs and an upper level master suite for us all. I’d also added a few additional features I knew she’d love, which I couldn’t wait to show her.

When the SUV drove up the track, my wolf bounced in my chest with excitement. He’d missed our mate the last few days. While we had spent our nights with her and Connor, we’d come here at the crack of dawn each day to get the last few items on the cabin completed and take delivery of some new furniture.

Tanner had helped assembled the giant bed we’d ordered and Silas had been in charge of hanging blinds.

All the cabin needed now were some finishing touches, like artwork on the walls, books for the floor-to-ceiling bookcase, and anything else Eva’s heart desired. The refit had cost a fucking fortune, but the insurance payout had more than covered the building work. Silas and I had also liquidated some investments to pay for the rest.

We could more than afford it. Eva deserved the best.

She stepped out of the car with Connor in her arms, her eyes wide.

“Is it nearly finished?” she asked, unable to hide her excitement.

“Come and see,” I grinned. Silas scooped the sleeping baby from her arms and Tanner escorted her up the stone steps.

While we had used locally sourced timber inside the cabin, we constructed the walls from stone, giving it a more solid appearance. There was a large wraparound deck on the ground floor and a veranda on the first floor. At the back of the house, we’d built a huge covered deck with room for an outdoor kitchen and grill, plus a hot tub.

Eva followed me inside and stopped dead. The living room and kitchen were open-plan like before, with a massive fireplace, bookshelves, and a top-of-the-range kitchen with professional-quality appliances.

We all had a bedroom each, but Eva’s was far larger and contained a Family XL bed big enough for all of us to share comfortably. I doubted any of us would use our own rooms other than for storing personal shit. But it wasn’t fair to assume Eva wanted our asses in her bed every night, especially with a cub demanding so much of her time right now.

Holding her hand, I led her upstairs.

“Cole, it’s amazing.” She stared wide-eyed at the sliding glass doors that opened out on to the large balcony from her bedroom. I’d bought some comfortable reclining chairs and a small table so she could sit out there and read if she liked. The views from up here were glorious.

I showed her the other rooms, including a nursery for Connor, which she loved, before we finished in the best room, the one I was most proud of: the house bathroom.

While each bedroom had an adjoining shower room, the main bathroom was large enough for a gigantic tub and a huge walk-in shower. The old bathroom had a glass wall, a design feature I’d incorporated into the new one, but this time, I’d added roof lights too. Anyone lying in the soaker tub at night could look up and see the stars.

I smiled as Eva gazed up, her eyes bright with tears.

She’d told me not long after we first met that her grandmother had taught her about the star constellations. I knew she liked to look at the stars at night and figured she’d appreciate the opportunity to stargaze while soaking in the tub.

She threw her arms around me. “Thank you, thank you so much.”

“Hey, I spent weeks laying tiles in here!” grumbled Silas from the doorway, Connor still fast asleep in his arms.

“And I nearly bust my back carrying the tub upstairs,” Tanner added.

She snorted with laughter, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. “I love you all so much. Thank you for making this happen.”

“Sweetheart, I love you too!”

Silas grabbed her around the waist and kissed her. “Love you, sugar, to the moon and back.”

Not to be outdone, Tanner jogged over and kissed Eva too, only with a lot more passion. By the time they broke apart, my mate was flushed and I could scent her sweet arousal. “Love you, baby,” he murmured. “How about we test out the new bed?”

Connor chose that exact moment to wake up, his blue eyes searching for his mama. The minute he spotted her, he started wailing.

“Someone’s hungry again,” she sighed.

“Go sit out on the deck and feed him while I start dinner.”

“Are we staying here?”

“You bet we are. This is us officially moving in, sweetheart.”

“But all my stuff is at—”
