“I couldn’t have done it without you.”

“Of that, I am well aware,” says Kenna, still smiling.

“Where’s your assistant?” I ask, my grin turning teasing. Kenna’s expression goes a little sour.

“You mean March?” she asks. I nod, smirking when she rolls her eyes. “He’s not my assistant any more than you are. I don’t know what’s got into that kid this week, but if he doesn’t watch himself, I’ll—”

“I would pay actual money to hear the rest of that sentence,” says Grayson March, coming up behind Kenna. She closes her eyes briefly before turning to face him.

“Me too,” says Cooper, trailing along behind March. “What are we talking about?”

“Miz Burch here was about to tell us just how she’ll punish me if I don’t watch myself.”

At that Kenna throws up her hands and stalks off. Grayson March clearly gets under her skin—it doesn’t appear to faze him, though.

“If that’s what you’re into,” says Cooper, making Grayson laugh.

“We’ll talk about that another time,” says Grayson, still chuckling. “Anything else you need from me, boss?” This question he directs to me; I shake my head.

“Cleanup crew has the rest,” I say. “Unless you’re working the photo shoot or something, we’re done here.”

“Nice. I’m out of here.” Grayson takes off with a wave, leaving me alone with Cooper.

“So,” says Cooper, shoving his hands in his pockets.

“So,” I say. “Bailey made the final five.”

“I heard,” says Cooper, trying not to smile. Of course he heard. He’s the one who announced the names.

“Pretty exciting.”

“So all three of us will be on location next week,” says Cooper. My mind trips over that and stays there.

All three of us. Holed up in the mountains for five days.

“You okay there?” Cooper asks. “Hello?”

“I’m fine,” I say. “I hadn’t thought of that.”

“What, you hadn’t thought of all three of us?” Cooper raises a brow, the hint of a smirk on his face. “Shame. I sure have.”

Drew goes beet red.

What is it about Drew Hicks that dismantles the filter between my brain and my mouth?

“It’s a joke, dude,” I say.

“Of course,” he says. I’m surprised he lets me off the hook that easy, because he clearly doesn’t believe me.

“Are you flying down with the crew on Tuesday?” I ask, just to change the subject. Why the hell am I still here? I should be partying it up in the winners’ circle.

“I think I’m going to drive myself down,” says Drew. “It’s only four hours away.”

The final five will compete in some upscale resort in the mountains a couple hundred miles east of the city.
