The three of them were a family. Mason and Asher were her Papa and Daddy.

She stood and walked over to the small garden, the vegetables starting to really come up. She crouched in front of the cucumbers, gently running her fingers over the prickly skin and smiling. She was proud of all the hard work they’d done, all the blood, sweat, and tears they’d put into making this their home.

And then the sound of Shiloh crying had Sparrow lifting her head instantly and looking in the direction of her daughter. She didn’t wait as she ran over to her, and although she could see the little girl had only fallen and scrapped her knee, Mason and Asher had come rushing over as well. Even the smallest cry, the littlest injury could mean something monumental in this world.

They could never be too careful.

Mason scooped Shiloh up, and Asher smoothed his hand over her hair. Both of Sparrow’s men gently cared for their child, murmuring soft things that made their daughter smile, told her they’d read her favorite book five times tonight if it’d make her tears stop.

But little Shiloh wanted her mama, and so when Mason handed her over to Sparrow, she sat down and kept her daughter in her lap, leaning down and kissing the small scrape on her knee.

“It’ll be okay, sweetheart.”

Shiloh wrapped her arms around Sparrow’s neck and started to calm down as she sang softly. And just like that, their baby girl was all smiles. She hopped off Sparrow’s lap a second later and ran back to her playhouse, causing all three of them to laugh softly.

“She’s tough,” Mason said deeply.

“A little spitfire,” Asher responded.

“She’s just like you two,” Sparrow replied softly, and they glanced at her, grinning.

Mason was by Sparrow a second later, kissing her deeply. Asher came to stand behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

As she let her men hold her, and as they watched their beautiful little girl play and live her best life, Sparrow was once again thankful.

They had their health.

They had their safety.

And most importantly, they had each other.

The End.
