“Not even close. A different article appeared, complete with naked pictures mind you, of what looks like a personal diary entry where Reggie’s visited a whorehouse in Nevada.”

Kendall heard, but didn’t comprehend. “What? Reggie was in a whorehouse in Nevada? What are you talking about?”

“I didn’t read the whole article before it was pulled by the moderator at the site, but whatever happened, the article about us was not released. It looks like we’re off the hook for now.”

“Why did he do that?”

“Well, I’m not sure that he did it. Reggie’s now blasting his social media pages with stuff about how he was hacked. That he couldn’t get into his own blog account to change it. Apparently, the blog site had to take the article down, because he told them he was unable to remove it. He’s saying that someone broke into his account, replaced what he intended, and then locked him out. I don’t know what force of angels we have on our side, but that’s great news, right?”

“Right. So who does Reggie think hacked him and changed the article? He’s not blaming us for this, is he?”

“He doesn’t know, however it appears that Reggie doesn’t think we have the brains to figure out his sophisticated software. As a matter of fact, no one seems to know who got into his system. At least not that I’m hearing anyway. They haven’t found a trace that anyone but Reggie was in the account, so far. Perhaps more will unfold today. But at least for now, we’re in the clear.”

“Thanks, Zane. That is good news.” He hung up the phone, relaxed and relieved for the first time in several days

Kendall glanced at Jocelyn. Her eyes were closed, but she had a big smile on her face. He suspected she was singularly the force of angels Zane had mentioned.

“What are you smiling about?”

Keeping her eyes closed, she answered, “Maybe I’m just having a good dream.”

“Are you talking in your sleep, too?”

“Absolutely.” He tickled her sides until she giggled.

“Did you do something?”

“Like what? You’ll have to be more specific, Kendall. For example, I did lots of things with you last night. Remember how we started in the shower—”

He broke in. “Yes. Yes. The shower was very memorable. What I mean specifically is, did you hack into someone’s blog account and change a certain article to something else.”

“I can’t imagine what you are talking about. When could I have done that? You’ve been with me since I got here late yesterday, and you certainly kept me busy and away from my computer all night long after the shower.”

“I’d say you had plenty of time before you came back to Montana. We took that shower very late in the day as I recall.”

She laughed out loud. “Well I guess you’ve got me there. But for the sake of my reputation, let’s talk in a more hypothetical manner.”

“Okay. Hypothetically, did you swap out Reggie’s blog?”

Logan sat up on the far side of the bed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and yawning. “What happened with Reggie and the article?”

“Apparently someone hacked into Reggie’s blog account and changed the article he’d planned to put up about us, and replaced it with something much more personal.”

“More personal?” Logan asked. “Like what?”

Kendall laughed. “In place of our afterhours decadence from ten years ago, there was some sort of private diary entry of Reggie’s involving a whorehouse he visited, complete with explicit pictures. His account was closed by the site. We’d probably be completely off the hook, except for the fact that Brittney still has the original photos and could use them again.”

“Unless you can prove they were altered,” Jocelyn said quietly. “And you can,” she added.

Logan gave him a puzzled stare for a second, and then they both looked down at Jocelyn. Her eyes were still closed, and she was still smiling.

“Altered? How can we prove that?”

Eyes closed she said, “Hypothetically, the pictures on the original blog showed Logan’s head on another body, but I know it wasn’t really him.”
