Colton gave him a satisfied look as he climbed into bed beside her. When Warrick returned, both of them were sound asleep.

He watched her peacefully slumbering as if she didn’t have a care in the world. She was so lovely. Marriage might be out of the question, but the word permanent crept into his mind like a sly fox stealthily making his way into an unguarded hen house late at night.

One thing was very clear. Isabelle was not going to be out of his system in a mere month.

* * * *

Colton woke before dawn—as he always did—only today, a smile shaped his lips before he even opened his eyes. Isabelle was snuggled up behind him, and her luscious breasts pushed into his back. He reached a hand out, settling his palm on her smooth thigh.

There were certainly much worse ways to wake up. Memories of the spectacular night of wild sex they’d enjoyed filtered into his brain. Unusual that he felt such a kinship so quickly with Isabelle. Typically after a night like last night, he’d already be thinking about the best way to send her off, hoping she truly wouldn’t be hurt if they didn’t call again. Often the women of their past didn’t even spend the night.

This relationship with Isabelle was about to be different. And not only because she wanted more. Truth be told, he wouldn’t mind spending additional time with her. She was great in bed, and willing to try things he knew she’d never done before. Being with two men. Being watched having sex. The incredible ménage sex.

But she readily met each of their sexual challenges with a half-smile and an eager joy. The unexpected double penetration with her last night had been the definition of perfection. He’d already put the experience in the top spot of the best sex ever category.

Isabelle moaned in her sleep and then a small sigh escaped directly next to his ear. Colton’s dick rose fervently to the morning occasion with even more vigor than usual.

Colton extracted himself from bed without waking her, but then stared down at her for several minutes, watching her sleep, hoping this wasn’t the last time they were ever together. He wanted to see her again. Did Warrick feel the same way? Hard to tell.

But Colton wouldn’t wake either of them or bring it up this morning. He had to get back to his ranch. A glance at the clock got his butt in gear, hurrying from the bedroom to get on with his busy day.

Later on, he’d call Warrick and assess his friend’s feelings on any future time with Isabelle. All Colton knew was that he wanted one. A future. With Isabelle.

Odd that he’d never felt this connected to a woman before. Maybe it was time. Or perhaps she was special. Maybe it was good they’d waited until Isabelle came along before the idea of permanence popped up.

He grabbed a quick cup of coffee in Warrick’s kitchen and hadn’t even finished the second sip when Warrick sauntered into the room.

“Sneaking out already?” his friend asked. Dressed only in black sweatpants, Warrick looked somehow different than he usually did after an epic sexual experience. This particular morning he looked relaxed. In fact, he looked damn near tranquil.

Typically, on a morning after, he looked edgy. Colton had always suspected it was because he feared he’d have to deal with an unwanted morning-after lover wanting more than he intended to give.

Today, Warrick didn’t look like anything troubled him, proving Colton’s theory that Isabelle was singular. His friend had been off the rails before they slept together. It was gratifying to Colton that Warrick was definitely not the same after being with her.

Colton grinned. “No. I have work to do.”

“Sure you do,” he said, practically joyous in his sarcastic remark. Warrick grabbed his own cup of coffee and seated himself at the bar.

“If you’d like to unload the many pallets of fifty-pound feed bags being delivered to my barn in an hour, I’ll go climb back in bed with Isabelle.”

His friend’s gaze went directly up to the second story where Isabelle still slept. Warrick’s unusually serene expression made Colton want to laugh out loud. Normally on a morning after he was gruff, terse, and grumpy at every little thing.

This morning he looked relaxed, rejuvenated, and recharged. Perhaps even ready for more. Colton decided that Warrick must have similarly good feelings about Isabelle based solely on his current attitude.

Was she going to be the one they kept?

“Last night was…” Warrick stopped talking, those first three words sounding wistful, prompting Colton to choke on his next sip of coffee.

Warrick gave him a dirty look. “What is the matter with you?”

“Nothing. It went down the wrong pipe. What were you saying, about last night?”
