Chapter 14
Louise slept peacefully and stretched lazily when she woke up. She was surprised to feel her arm hit something solid and her eyes flew open. She smiled happily as she looked at a na**d Richard in her bed. They had had a passionate night and she felt satiated and happy, almost as if she were living in a dream world.
The phone rang and she reached over and grabbed it as Richard woke up.
“Hello,” She yawned into the phone.
“This is the front desk. There are two guests waiting for you and Mr. Beekman downstairs.”
“Really? Who?” She asked curiously.
“A David Beekman and Monique.” The man from the front desk continued as Louise felt the blood drain from her face.
“Ok, thanks.” She hung up the phone and saw that Richard had woken up. “David and Monique are here.” She said the words quickly before he could speak and she felt a sharp jab of pain as Richard jumped out of the bed.
“Oh shit.” He grabbed his tee shirt and boxers and put them on. “Did you know they were coming?”
“No.” She spoke softly feeling her heart break as he rushed to his room. “I guess I’ll see you later.” She mumbled to herself as he rushed through the door. All his concern for her was gone as he rushed off to his girlfriend Monique.
She lay there for a second before getting out of bed and heading for the shower. She paused hoping that Richard would come back to the room and apologize for just darting out. She felt used and worthless and cried as the water from the shower came crashing down on her, scalding her with its heat.
She got dressed slowly and went down to the lobby to see Richard, Monique and David sitting at the restaurant eating breakfast.
“There you are Louise.” David jumped up and rushed over to her, hugging him to her. “Surprise.”
“Hey.” She smiled up at him, trying to hide her pain. “What are you guys doing here?”
“Monique and I had to go to France to do a shoot for the commercial and we figured we could come over to London for the day to surprise you and Richard.” He grinned at her. “I figured you deserved a break and shouldn’t have to work on a Sunday.”
“Oh thanks.” She smiled weakly at him; not bothering to tell him how wonderful Richard had been to her the day before.
“I know what a slave-driver my brother can be.”
Louise wondered if she should tell David that she knew that Richard wasn’t really his brother but decided against it. It didn’t really matter. Just like she didn’t. She walked with David to the table and noticed that Monique’s hand was resting on Richards’s leg. The redhead looked as beautiful as ever and Louise felt an overwhelming hatred overcome her.
