Kaitlin’s boyfriend knocked her up and then told her it was her problem. She had been in love with Chester, but he turned out to be a man whore with little respect for women. Even when Kaitlin told him about the baby’s medical condition, he walked away from her and told her to never call him again. That just downright pissed Adelina off.

But she took her sister into her small apartment, and they began raising little Bryer. His medical condition turned into full-fledged cancer, and so the journey through tests, tests, and more tests, chemo, plus hospital stays, turned into bills. There were so many, Adelina couldn’t keep up with them. She thought about trying to get another job, and squeeze in the hours, but then when she would get home in the early morning, she would take over caring for Bryer, so Kaitlin could get some rest. Those last few treatments made the poor kid so weak and sick, it was heartbreaking. Sometimes Adelina wondered how the hell she kept up with the routine on such little sleep. But she did. There were no other choices.

Jett and Flynn were paying her well, so she held on to the job and did everything they wanted so she could help her sister and nephew survive. As much as Adelina adored Jett and Flynn, staying here at the club was weighing on her. She wanted to quit. That whole “out of sight, out of mind” thing would hopefully work. Then in her sister’s state of trying to feel somewhat in control of this out-of-control situation, she went and borrowed money from Mr. Margliado. Adelina didn’t even know who Mr. Margliado was or what he looked like. What did it matter anyway? Two more payments and they were caught up. She could put all this debt behind her and her sister, and focus on raising Bryer.

That meant not getting drunk on a regular basis, sleeping around, or taking chances that could put her and her family at risk.

God, I sound so fucking old. I’m only twenty-four and these guys have me acting like their fucking mother. I don’t want to be their mother. I want to be theirs. I want them to look at me the way that Nash and Riker look at Chastity. The way Cash and Zane cater to Chiara and accept her independence and achievements in the workforce. What about Emerson and Stone, and the way little Toni DeLuca has them cuddling up next to her and kissing her, touching her every chance they get. And forget about Hudson and Jagger. The way those two treat Tia Rose and the powerful bond between the three of them is like something out of a romance novel.

As a matter of fact, they all have what I want. Someone to love me. Someone to come home to at night and cuddle with. Someone who can accept my desires in bed, and my wants, my need to explore my sexuality. Oh God, to be sandwiched between Jett and Flynn, with both men deep inside me, would be a fantasy come true. But I can’t have them. I won’t be just another fuck to them. I want more. I’ve waited long enough.

“Another round of shots, Murph, on me,” Flynn yelled out. Murph looked right at Adelina.

“Adelina.” Flynn said her name, and of course, even in his slightly slurred speech, his tone of voice did a number on her body. She took an uneasy breath and approached him. When his arm snagged around her waist, he hoisted her up against his hard body, she gasped and held his forearms.

Oh God, I want this man. His arms feel so incredible. God help me.

She had to look way up, despite her very high heels. She wished that Jett was here, but since the two met in their back office about three hours ago, she hadn’t seen any sign of Jett. Something was going on. Flynn hadn’t gotten this drunk since some old friends of his and Flynn’s visited from Virginia.

Flynn held her tight and whispered into her ear. She locked gazes with Murph, who smiled and winked. Was it her, or did most of the staff know that she had the hots for her bosses but wouldn’t do a damn thing about it? She rolled her eyes as the smell of tequila and Flynn’s delicious cologne filled her nostrils.

“You remember who’s in charge here, Adelina. I’m the boss. What I say goes. So stop looking at Murph and trying to get him to cut me off. It’s not like I’m driving.” His lips touched her skin by her ear. She should not be turned on by this. She should not be relishing in this intimate moment, pretending that Flynn cared when he didn’t see her as a woman, just his club manager.

She had to do her job. Just like she had been doing for the last two years. She caressed his forearms and turned her face slightly. Now her mouth was under his chin, as he still remained slightly bent over so he could reach her ear.

“I think you’ve had enough, Flynn. Why don’t you let me walk you upstairs to the office, so you can lay down a while?

“No.” He grabbed her a little harder. His mouth was there again, next to her ear.

“I need to numb the pain. You don’t understand. Just make sure I don’t pass out down here. You’re an angel, Adelina. You’ll make sure I get upstairs. Alone.” He kissed her ear, and then pulled her lobe between his teeth. She felt him lick the skin, and her pussy instantly leaked. She pushed away from him. Holy shit.

He stared at her in one of those deep, drunken stares men got when they wanted sex or thought they could satisfy a woman in bed even though they were a few sheets to the wind.

She stared at him as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. The move made his eyes zero in on her breasts but she didn’t care.

“Give them another round, Murph. Last call is in thirty minutes,” she said and then walked away.

Two hours later, Adelina stared at a half-naked Flynn, lying on the bed. Murph placed him down and left to go downstairs to clean up. It had been a hell of a night. She remained there, watching him as he slept. Adelina couldn’t resist touching him. A small stroke against his lower lip and firm chin had her imagining climbing into bed with him and having her way. He was so beautiful and nearly identical to his brother, Jett. Except Flynn’s eyes were ocean blue and Jett’s were dark blue. Dark and mysterious, just like the man himself. As her mind drifted to doing things to Flynn, she caught a hold of herself and remembered that she wasn’t some fatal attraction chick. She was a professional, classy woman, one who did not throw inhibition to the wind, no matter how fucking, incredibly hot this man, half-naked, laid before her. She cleared her throat as her nipples hardened.

My life sucks.

* * * *

Flynn awoke in bed upstairs and moaned as he turned over onto his side. He saw the bottle of water, a bottle of some sort of orange drink, and some ibuprofen. Adelina.

He moved to sit up, noticed that his pants were on but undone, and the belt off of his dress pants. He wasn’t wearing any shirt, and as he tried to swallow, it felt like he had a mouthful of cotton balls.

He reached for the bottle of water first. He knew the concoction Adelina made herself would taste like shit, but it somehow got rid of the hangover. He needed to clear his head. He couldn’t remember a fucking thing about last night. He guzzled down the water and then felt it hit his belly hard. He wouldn’t throw up. He knew that much.

“You look like shit.”

Flynn looked up and saw Jett standing in the doorway. He was drinking a cup of coffee and holding a file in his hand.

“Thanks, bro,” Flynn replied.

“You should drink the stuff Adelina left for you. She just left about twenty minutes ago, when I got here.”

“Fuck. She stayed here all night?”

“She didn’t want to leave you alone. She was worried,” Jett stated with an attitude and that look in his eyes that made most men panic. Not Flynn. He and Jett shared a special bond.

He held his brother’s gaze as he ran a hand through his hair.

“Any news from Viper’s wife?” he asked, the headache suddenly pounding harder as the words left Flynn’s lips.

“No. She won’t take any calls. I don’t blame her. Her husband shouldn’t have been there.”

“I still can’t believe he’s gone. I thought he was finished working for the government.”

“So did I. Word is, he was doing some things he shouldn’t have been doing.”

“Like what?”

“That’s what I’m trying to find out. I don’t like the connections the guys are coming up with thus far. It seems Viper’s loyalties may have strayed.”

“Where?” Flynn asked.

“To the dark side. You’d better get dressed. There’s things to go over. Adelina left you some papers for you to sign and an order to recheck before she submits it tonight.”

“She’s a lifesaver.” Flynn felt his gut clench. She was more than that. She was everything they both wanted, but feared they could corrupt and hurt. She was too good for them. Way too good.

Jett locked gazes with Flynn. He didn’t say what was on his mind. He and Flynn both were attracted to Adelina but neither would make a move. Not when they continued to act like a bunch of twenty-year-old bachelors with no care in the world and no desire to make a commitment to one woman. Adelina was special. So much so that neither man would allow themselves to act on their attraction to her.
