“Yeah. Perhaps.” Ella turned away from her. “I’m going to get a beer, do you want one?”

“Sure.” Sophie watched her friend walk away and pull off her tee shirt and shorts, so that she was just in a skimpy bikini. Ella was truly beautiful with a perfect body. Sophie sighed while looking at her friend; it just wasn’t fair that someone seemingly had everything. She was beautiful, smart, rich and had a great family. How did someone get soo lucky?

“That’s a very contemplative look.” Maxwell stood there next to her with his shirt off and she drunk in his presence. His chest seemed to radiate a gold tone due to the sun’s rays and the light mat of his hair chest called out to her hands. She wanted to reach over and stroke it like one would stroke a puppy.

“Just thinking about life.”

“Are you going to expound on that?”

“Why do you freeze me out Maxwell?”

“What?” He looked at her in surprise and took a step away from her. “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“After we have sex. You act like I don’t even exist.” She whispered to him, making sure no one was close. She noticed that Ella and Joseph were no longer on the deck and Lily was lying back getting some sun on her skin.

“No I don’t.” He frowned. “And I told you. I don’t think it’s a good idea for us to have sex anymore.”

“Why not?” She stepped towards him angrily. “You don’t seem to be saying no when it is happening.”

“It just is.” He grabbed her hands. “Look Sophie. This is not a good idea.”

“You are too young. You are my sister’s best friend. I’m not a good guy.” He rasped at her.

“Why aren’t you?” She squinted her eyes at him.

“It doesn’t matter.” His hands squeezed hers tightly and he stepped towards her. “I am warning you that you need to stop this now Sophie.”

“Or what?” She spoke defiantly, upset that he wasn’t just being straight with her.

“Or you are not going to like what happens to you.” He pushed himself into her and she was trapped between the side of the boat and his body. “Or you are going to wish that you never met me.”

“You don’t scare me Maxwell.”

“Then you are a fool Sophie.”

“Maybe.” She whispered. Maybe I’m a fool in love she thought to herself.

“I play hard and fast Sophie and I don’t care who gets caught in the crossfire.”

“Neither do I.” She lied. “I play hard and fast too.”

“Really?” His eyes glinted at her.

“Yes.” She swallowed.

“Turn around and bend over then.” He grunted into her ear.

“What?” She looked at him in surprise.

“I want to fuck you right here and right now. If you truly play hard and fast bend over.”

“But what about Lily, she nodded over to the woman who was lying on the deck just a few feet away.” She swallowed. “And Ella and Joseph.”

“I knew you didn’t play hard and fast.” He turned away from her and laughed.

“Wait.” She grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her. She looked over to Lily once again, she appeared to be sleeping and Sophie bit her lip. She quickly turned around and bent over the side of the boat. She lifted her skirt up and turned back towards Max who watched her with a wicked smile. He moved in towards her and pulled the front of his shorts down and removed his cock. She felt his rub it up and down on her clit for what seemed like an eternity before he pushed himself into her. She cried out from the shock of his thrust and he put a hand over her mouth and whispered in her ear. “You have to be quiet my dear.” He kept his hand there as he plunged in and out of her. Sophie leant forward unconsciously and this allowed his cock to plunge into her even deeper. She bit his hand as he thrust into her harder and harder; she felt him in her so deep that she felt that he was trying to become one with her. He groaned into her ear and reached his hands down to grab her breasts. He groped them sensuously and squeezed her nipples as he fucked her relentlessly. She shuddered as she came and he increased his pace until she felt the warmness of his sperm fill her. He pulled out of her immediately after he came and pulled her skirt down.

“We need to make sure you get on the patch immediately. I don’t know how much I trust the pill.” He stared at her intently. “You seem to be a drug I can’t quit so we better make sure we are taking better preventative methods.”

“Yeah.” Sophie smiled weakly as her stomach churned. She suddenly felt very sick and faint.

“If you want to go down this road with me Sophie you will need to follow my rules.” He assessed her coolly. “You need to know what you are getting yourself into.”

“I know.” She stared back at him coolly. She saw Ella and Joseph walking back on the deck and she saw Joseph patting her friend’s ass. All of a sudden she felt a shiver of cold inside of her.

“We can make this a new arrangement if you want.” He paused. “You can be my special assistant.”

“Like the one’s you had before?” She spoke casually but there was urgency to her words.

He looked at her carefully. “What do you know about my other assistants?”

“I know you’ve fucked them as well.”

“I just know.” She looked at him unflinchingly.

“Then you know how the arrangements ended?” He looked at her with a half smile, though his eyes were hard.

“No, not really.”

“They all wanted more and I fired them.” He laughed. “This isn’t a forever arrangement. When I’ve had my fill I’m done.”

“I see.” Though she had a billion questions. How long did it take for him to be done? And did he see them outside of work? Did he ever date anyone regularly?

“I don’t think you do.” He laughed and looked out at the lake. “I’m not a good guy Sophie. You should walk away now. I can hurt you.”

“No you can’t.” She lied. She would take any hurt just for the chance to be with him for any length of time.

“I can.” He looked at her with pain in his eyes. “I am capable of hurting you in ways you do not even know about.”

“What are you talking about?” She whispered, scared but hopeful to learn more.

“A long time ago, I did a very bad thing.” His voice was low. “I can never let it happen again.”

“What did you do?” Sophie questioned him, her heart beating rapidly. She had a feeling this was related to the information Ella had been talking about.

“I loved someone very much.” His voice was filled with emotion. “I couldn’t control myself.”

Sophie felt her heart ripping apart. “What did you do?” She whispered.

He looked into her eyes and her heart ached for him. She could see the deep pain that lingered there and he looked like a lost soul. “I did it for love. I was blind. I didn’t know. How could I know?” His voice broke as he spoke.

“Do you still love her?” Sophie’s heart was breaking and she didn’t know if she wanted to know the answer.

“Yes. I’ll always love her. “ His voice was low. “She’s all I ever think about.”

“Oh.” Sophie felt crushed. “And she doesn’t want you?”

He looked at her and he laughed. A deep dark laugh filled with pain and sorrow. “She must never know of my love. Nothing good will ever come of it.”

“Oh.” Sophie didn’t understand and she felt more confused and upset than ever. “I see. So you don’t want to date her?”

“There are some people so precious and delicate in life that they must be protected from all of nature’s dark side.”
