“Don’t act all innocent son,” Conrad says, shaking his head. “Please continue Shell.”

“Thank you, my darling. So, I will hand you presents. The only thing I ask is to grab the attention of the person who got it for you so they can see you open it. Or you can say thank you. And none of you better give me grief about something being too much. I’m talking to you, my girls.”

H and I look at each other and try to hide our smiles.

Shelly begins passing out presents and I risk stealing a look at Landon. He has been pretty quiet, and he is constantly on his phone. I’ve seen him talking to his parents briefly. He did give Gray and I a hug and thanked us again when we walked in but that’s as much socializing as he has done.

Shelly must have picked up on it too because she gives him his presents first.

Soon everyone has their piles and Shelly gives us the go ahead to start. The sound of paper ripping, laughter, and thank yous fills the air.

Willow even starts getting excited when Conrad places a giant basket full of toys in front of her.

I noticed after a while that Landon has disappeared. I have a feeling I know where he went and I’m glad she is in good hands.

Grayson hugs me tighter. “Merry Christmas, Angel. Thank you for making this the best Christmas I have ever had.”

I sink further into him and turn my head to give him a kiss. “And thank you for being the reason this is my best Christmas.”

We are lost in each other for a moment when screaming breaks us out of it.

Harper, Shelly, and Noah are all jumping up and down. “You got us tickets to go see *NSYNC?!?”

I nod and laugh as they all start freaking out again.

Grayson hugs me again because he knows they are about to steal me away. “I love you, Angel.”

I kiss him on his scruffy cheek. “I love you too, Bear.”

And just as suspected I’m pulled off Grayson’s lap and joining the freakout session.

This man, this family, this life is more than I ever dreamed of having, and I couldn’t be happier that I accepted that fate had a hand in leading me exactly where I was supposed to be.
