My back and knee where killing me by the time I got home at three this morning, Wiley was fast asleep when I picked her up from Delores’s house but woke just as we got home for a feed. I’d changed and feed her after taking a pain pill for my back, I’d always had trouble with my back slipping a disk last year when I fell on the frost when I was heading to work, JT refusing to let me have anytime off. I went to the doctor who prescribed some good pain pills and tonight I was thankful I still had some left, I burped Wiley laying her on my stomach and dosing off. I wake a few hours later to her moving but my back is on fire and I grab another pill popping it, I go through the routine of changing feeding and burping her again but she stays awake cooing and rattling her toys so I lay her on the ground in her bassinette my eyes feeling heavy from the pills and the lack of sleep and I close my eyes slowing feeling the pill working but I keep my hand on her leg as I slowly drift off back to sleep.
I wake to Wiley screaming making me jump and I notice my door open and a woman holding her “What the fuck? GIVE HER BACK!” I yell at the women as she throws Wiley at me and runs out the door and I notice my bag and other things missing, Wiley screams as I try and calm her down and I look her over but there’s not a mark on her and I curse myself for falling asleep again. I get up and slam the door but it hits the frame bouncing open because the bitch broke the lock and I curse myself for taking the damn pill. I hold Wiley to me shushing her as tears fall down my cheek as I look around my small apartment (Damn I have to get out of here). I’m lucky I still have my keys in my pocket and I grab Wiley’s bag and basket and head out the door to my car. As I drive I have no place in mind but end up at The Devils Soldiers compound and pull up to the gate and I notice a guy who used to live in my complex standing there
“Hi” he says
“Is Socket in?” I ask but he shakes his head
“Sorry no he’s not”
“Let her in” is yelled and the gates opens and I notice Niya and Maggie standing near the door. Once I park I grab Wiley out of her basket making me wince with pain and I see Niya frowning at me
“Dove are you ok?” she asks me and I burst into tears and she pulls me in for a hug “What happened?” she asks but I can’t seem to be able to talk. “Dove honey, what happened?” I step back looking at the two of them my fuzzy brain still shouting at me to sleep
“I…. I”
“Hey” she says walking me towards the clubhouse and through the doors, this time we go over and sit on some sofas Maggie taking Wiley from me. I sit down slowly wincing at the burning pain in my back “Are you ok?” she asks me as I watch Maggie playing with Wiley and I shake my head
“No, I just, I feel asleep and Wiley was screaming and this woman had her and I didn’t know what to do” I tell her and she frowns at me
“Who had her? I don’t understand” she asks me
“My back was killing me and I took a pill and feel asleep and when I woke up this woman was in my apartment and she was holding Wiley” tears slide down my cheeks feeling ashamed at how stupid I was at taking the damn pill. “She stole my purse, I didn’t know what to do so I just drove” I tell her and she rubs my arm
“Your safe here” she tells me looking over at Maggie and Wiley and I feel my eyes closing again than nothing. I feel myself being lifted but my brain is so tired I just don’t seem to be able to open my eyes, I feel a blanket being placed over me than nothing again.

I slowly wake stretching noticing that I’m in a bedroom in a large bed, I sit up and the burning pain I had in my back seems to be feeling much better. I stand up not really sure how in the hell I got here or where the hell I am and I go to the window and notice how dark it is outside and panic hits me. I look at my watch “Fuck!” I say to myself knowing I should be at Pink Slip “Fucking Fuck!” I say as I open the door and run straight into a hard body looking up at the guy who was sitting with Socket
