“Try and succeed,” Andi added.

“So, what did you really tell him. And I’ll know if you’re lying,” I added.

“I told him that I fell in love with the devil, and that he should pray for my soul.”

I laughed. “Did you really?”

She winked, then licked her lips. “Kiss me, and I might consider telling you the truth.”

The door swung open just as our lips met. Rachel was glaring with her hands on her hips. “You know these walls are thinner than rice paper, right? I can hear everything. And I’m not paying you to be out here talking dirty to your—” Rachel seemed to look at me for the first time. Her eyes scanned me from head to toe, then she pursed her lips. “This guy is the Landon you’ve been talking about?”

Andi pointed a finger at her warningly. “Don’t say anything weird.”

“I won’t.” She gave me another long look. “I guess I would give BDSM a try for a guy like that, too,” she muttered to herself as she walked back in the apartment.

Andi covered her eyes. “I kind of told her everything. My sisters, too. I mean, I censored out—” she lowered her voice to barely a whisper. “All the really dirty stuff. I didn’t tell her that. I also kind of started writing a BDSM section for the blog, and it’s blowing up. It had a thousand hits yesterday.”

“That’s incredible,” I said, squeezing her hand. “And you can tell Rachel whatever you want,” I said. “I don’t even care if you tell her how unbelievable the blowjobs you give are.”

There was a loud thump and a muffled groan of pain from inside the room. Both seemed to come only inches from the wall we were standing beside.

Andi stifled a laugh.

“So you’re really not going to tell me where you’re taking your sisters?” I asked.

“Nope. It’s super-secret, and if I told you, you’d want to come.”

“Interesting. Well, I’ll just have to find something fun to do on my own, I guess.”

“Without other women, I hope?”

“Oh, there will be women. Tons of them.”

I could tell she was trying to figure out if I was serious, but I decided two could play at that game. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Wainwright.”33AndiAubria and Bree looked a little disappointed when they saw my grand plan was to take them to an aquarium. Bree perked up a little when I asked for bands to get us into the dolphin encounter. I’d honestly been wanting to do this again ever since coming here with Landon, and I knew my story hadn’t done the place justice.

We walked around together, looked at the fish, skimmed the informational plaques, and even ate the same cheesy fries I’d shared with Landon.

Bree dipped one of her fries in ketchup and ate it in a single bite.

“That’s kind of gross,” I said. “Ketchup and cheese?”

“One word,” Bree said. “Cheeseburger.”

I rolled my eyes. “That’s different. Like, would you dip a potato in mayonnaise and take a big bite of it? No. But potato salad is delicious.”

Bree waved a fry at me. “You have no idea what I would or would not do with a potato and some mayonnaise.”

“You know what I want to know?” Audria asked.

“Where to find an endless supply of medical cadavers to experiment on?” I asked.

She shot me a dry look. “That’s not even the kind of research I do. So, no. I want to know if grandpa is going to try to force Bree and I into some screwed up sexual adventure, too.”

I shrugged. “Maybe. Or maybe this whole thing was more about Landon than it was about me. I mean, he did say I’d get the hotel either way.”

Bree looked thoughtful. “If he was just going to give us our shares of the hotel, why wouldn’t he have done it already?”

“I’m not sure,” I said. “But I can’t imagine we’ll have to wait much longer to find out.”

“Hey,” Bree said. “Can we go wait by the dolphin place early? I kinda want to see what I’m getting into. The idea of jumping into some huge tank of water with a dolphin is actually freaking me out a little.”

“What?” I asked. “Dolphins are like the sweetest animal known to man.”

“False,” Audria said. “Dolphins are sexual deviants. They assault people all the time, violently humping them if given the chance.”

I snorted. “You’re making that up.”

“Wish I was,” Audria said nonchalantly. “Look it up yourself.”

Despite Audria’s warnings, we headed to the tanks early enough to see the group before us finishing up. The way the area was set up allowed us a perfect view as we crossed a ramp that circled one of the tanks. I saw a dark-haired man treading water in the middle of the tank with a smile on his face so huge and genuine that it took me a second to recognize him. “You’ve got to be shitting me,” I said, half in awe.
