Zayed, sensing that Rou was close to tears, slipped an encouraging arm around her waist, but it was too late. She could barely focus on the ceremony, her vision already blurred. It was such a miracle, she thought, Sharif here, once again king, and it had been only natural to name one of the babies after him.

With Sharif back, and resuming his role, she and Zayed were free to go anywhere, but they’d decided to stay in Sarq, and to live and raise the boys in Cala at the summer palace. She loved the water and the weather and the beautiful historic port. Zayed wanted to be close to his family but not tripping over them, so Cala was a perfect solution. Zayed had also said they could start traveling, if that’s what she wanted, but Rou didn’t want to travel. Didn’t feel any need to get back to work. She loved being a mom. Adored her husband. And thoroughly enjoyed her life.

She, who never wanted to marry or have children, had found her bliss. It wasn’t the hours at the office, or on the road lecturing. It was here at home. Her bliss was love, marriage and motherhood. Three areas of study she planned to continue as long as she lived.
