“Where do you put it all?” I asked, eyeing his lean body up and down.

He patted his belly, smiling as he reached for my hand. “I figured I needed sustenance so I could keep up with you on the dance floor.”

“I really like your style, Corbett,” I complimented as we made our way to the back room where they were set up for dancing.

The music switched from something fast to a slower beat right when we hit the dance floor, and Vaughn pulled me close. Being in his arms felt damn good. I rested my head against his broad shoulder and breathed deep, pulling his woodsy scent into my lungs. The smell went straight to my head—and my pussy, making my panties damp. I shifted closer, pleased to discover I wasn’t the only one suffering from need. His hardened length pressed against my lower belly, making me wet to the point that I was worried about ruining the most beautiful dress I’d ever worn. But no way was I going to stop dancing with Vaughn. It felt too good. I wanted the night to last forever. My brand-new designer dress was a small price to pay for the opportunity to be with him.

Vaughn and I swayed together through slow songs, and we shook our asses through the fast ones. We stopped to chat with a few couples along the way. I had already met some of them through Morgan, but a bunch of them were A-listers who ran well outside her circle—her pre-Gage one, that is. Morgan and I had oohed and aahed through the years over so many of the celebrities who were here; it was surreal to know that there were young girls at home doing the very same thing over us tonight.

Not Vaughn, though. Everyone seemed to know him, so he was able to introduce me. I was most excited to meet Chloe Parker and her husband, Kael. They weren't the most famous of the bunch, but I was intrigued by the story of how they met. It was along the lines of the perfect screenplay for a romantic suspense, complete with a deranged stalker and a dashing hero who came to the heroine’s rescue. But for the most part, we kept to ourselves as we danced and whispered the night away.

A couple of hours later, Vaughn twirled me near Morgan and Gage. They were standing still among a sea of fancy bodies. Her face was lifted toward his, and they were kissing like they didn’t care who saw them. The entire world had already seen it tonight with how many views the videos of them from earlier had gotten, but I figured they’d better take their love fest somewhere more private before anyone got some much more interesting footage of them.

“Why don’t you two lovebirds head out? I’m sure I can find a ride home.” I felt my cheeks heat as I thought about my earlier conversation with Vaughn and the sexier kind of ride he might be up for giving me tonight.

Gage immediately shot Vaughn a look, reinforcing the fact that we weren’t pulling the wool over our friends’ eyes at all. I was definitely going to get the third degree from Morgan as soon as she was able to get me alone to grill me about what was going on with him.

Morgan and Gage quickly decided they were ready to go and said their goodbyes. Since they hadn’t seen each other for a week, I wasn’t even a little bit surprised.

“Do you have any more plans now that Morgan is gone, and your best friend duties are complete?”

“Nope. I’m all yours, if you’re still the man I should go to whenever I need a ride.” I pointed down at the floor and lifted up my right foot to wiggle it around. “These shoes are gorgeous, but they’re killing me. I can’t wait to get out of them.”

“Go ahead and kick ‘em off,” he urged.

“No way am I walking on this floor in my bare feet.” I gave an exaggerated shudder. “God only knows what all has been spilled on it tonight.”

“No need.” He turned around and hunched down. “I’ll give you a piggyback ride.”

“A piggyback ride?” I echoed in shock since it wasn’t what I’d been expecting him to say.

“Yup.” He patted his back. “C’mon, hop on.”

It wasn’t how I’d expected to feel him between my legs the first time, but getting off my feet sounded like an excellent plan to me. So I climbed on, giggling as we made our way through the party and out to the line of waiting limos. Vaughn didn’t put me on my feet until the driver opened the back door and he could set me inside on the seat. He slid in right after me, tugging me close and wrapping his arm around my shoulders. “I don’t want tonight to end. Come to my place instead of having the driver drop you off at home.”
