With his blade at the man’s neck, he grabbed his cock and started to twist it.

“Fucker!” the man growled.

Simon drew his head back and slammed it against the man’s temple. The man fell and he stomped on his dick. He didn’t stop, just kept kicking him.

The man had passed out and he became aware of the guys now watching him.

“Are we done here?” James asked.

“You good for these men to be taken, or do you want to knee him in the balls a little more?” Devil asked.

“I’m good.” He reached down, grabbed the gun, and shot the guy twice in the dick. “He’ll still live with that, won’t he?”

Simon didn’t wait to hear the answer. He left the warehouse, stepping outside into the cold air. The women were all being rounded up. Ambulances and cars were waiting to take them to safe locations.

“You okay?” Pa asked, coming out to see him.

He nodded. “Yeah, of course, I am. I’m fine.”

“Really, ’cause the way I see it, you went a little crazy in there.” Pa folded his arms, waiting.

“I don’t need to talk about it.”

“I think it’s time you did talk. It could be good for you.”

“I’m not the kind of guy to talk about my feelings. I don’t need to. I’m fine.”

“You don’t sound fine.”

“I am,” he said. “You don’t need to worry about me.” He paced the length of the ground between the cages. Blowing out a breath, he gripped the back of his neck, trying to focus on something other than what he’d just witnessed. “I am fine.”

“Okay.” Pa hadn’t left. He took a seat on the ground, resting his back against the cages. “You know I thought I’d seen it all, but now I know I haven’t even touched the surface of how shitty mankind can be. It’s tough.”

“Those women, they didn’t deserve what happened to them,” Simon said.

“No one rarely does.”

“Apart from those fucking animals. They…” He stopped. He just couldn’t finish.

“Are you worried you’re going to turn into one of them?”

“No. What kind of bullshit is that?” he asked, stopping to stand in front of Pa.

Pa held his hands up. “I know you’ve got a lot of shit going on in your life and it took you far away from your woman.”

“For fuck’s sake. We don’t need to be talking about that shit. Honestly, I’m good.”

“I think you need to talk about it.”

“I don’t.” He stopped, glancing over toward the warehouse where his father was helping out the women.

“He’s a good guy,” Pa said.

“Yeah, he’s one of the best men I know.”

“Do you want to be like him?”

Simon brought his attention back to his friend. “Yeah, I do. Everything he’s been through. All the challenges he’s faced. He’s looked death in the face and laughed. Men follow him.”

“Simon, we followed you because you’re one hell of a guy. You don’t have to worry about those men.”

“I can kill so easily,” he said. “I don’t … I don’t think about them.” He looked at Pa. “Those men, you’ve seen the pile of dead bodies. Girls, they at one point had families, but they’ve been discarded like they meant nothing.”

“And you’re worried you’re like those men.”

“I would never rape a girl.”

“No, but you don’t care about the men you’ve killed. The lives you’ve taken.”

Simon gritted his teeth. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”

“You’re human, Simon.”

“And I don’t care. I’ve just stomped on that guy’s dick, and I don’t care.”

“He’s never going to use that cock again.”

“I want to kill him.”

“And that’s your problem.”

“To be like my father, I’ve got to learn to walk away. To let this happen,” he said, looking at the men being led out. The Billionaires knew their shit. There were always fuckups. Men died, as did women. They were not always so easily contained. “I don’t know. I think Tabby being pregnant is messing with my head.” He sat next to his friend.

“This is going to mess with anyone’s head. It’s a fucked-up situation. There’s no getting away from that. I do think you’re going to need to have that looked at,” Pa said, pointing to his shoulder.

Simon glanced down and his eyes went wide. He’d been shot in the shoulder but he hadn’t even felt the pain.

“Now you know it’s there, it’s going to start stinging like a bitch,” Pa said.

“You’re right. Fuck, ouch.”

Pa laughed getting to his feet.

“For what it’s worth, Simon. I think you’re one hell of a guy.” Pa shook his hand.

There was an ambulance waiting that hadn’t gone. He sat on the edge as one of the paramedics saw to his arm. It was only a graze. He’d need to patch up his leather cut.

Devil finally came over to see him. There were no girls and the bad guys were all gone. The Billionaires were handling everything else.

“We’ve got five that we’re going to need to house until the Billionaires can find the right center to send them to. Parents are already being called.”
