“There is bar in pool. We can surround ourselves with beautiful women in swimsuits and get drunk at same time.”

“You get the fuck away from me,” said Jett, grabbing his hoodie out of his cubby to whip it in Wolf’s direction. “I don’t want to look at you right now.”

Wolf, who didn’t understand why Jett was having such a harsh reaction to his proximity, set his hands on his hips and scowled at them. “Nudity is nothing to be ashamed of, little ferret. I am naked in front of you many times, and you never said it bothered you.”

“It’s not that—” Jett touched the back of his hand to his forehead to cool his blush, but it was impossible.

“Is it Killinger?”

Harrison wasn’t looking at Wolf, but he could hear his frown from a mile away.

“This is no problem, Jett. You’re not my type—I don’t like blonds. Killinger has nothing to worry about.”

“Wrong fucking Killinger,” Jett muttered, and Harrison coughed to hide his laughter.

“Besides,” Wolf continued, because why wouldn’t he. “I have seen Killinger in shower. If anyone should be jealous, it’s me.”

“Ohmygod.” Jett stood and removed his towel, panic-dressing into his suit that was getting wrinkled by all the rough treatment. “I can’t do this. I’m leaving right now, and I don’t want to see your dumb face until we get on the plane.”

Harrison glanced at Wolf and caught him grinning.

“So, no pool party?” Wolf asked.

“No.” Jett was so red he might actually hit a new level of blushing. “I told you and all the other bastards that I’m going back to the hotel and having sex. That’s why I’m buying the team breakfast in Boston.”

Wolf’s brows furrowed. “You said you wanted to watch movie and sleep. Nothing about sex.”

“I said,” Jett said slowly, like Wolf couldn’t understand the words leaving his mouth. “That I was going back to the hotel to Netflix and Chill. If you don’t know what that means, you have Google, so fucking use it.”

Harrison was worried he might see another fight, this time off the ice, but then Wolf threw his head back and laughed loudly, smacking Harrison’s face hard enough to sting.

“I like when he is angry,” said Wolf. “Much more funny.”

Jett didn’t have both shoes on before he grabbed his travel bag and gestured for Harrison to follow. “Let’s get out of here before I kill him.”

Harrison needed to be a good boyfriend, so he refused to join in on Wolf’s laughter even though it was a struggle. He removed his travel bag from where he’d left it by the bench and hurried to catch up with Jett, who was already walking down the hallway.

He had his shoe on now and was detangling his hair with his fingers while they walked. He was still flustered, which was evident when a Sunburst staff member approached them with security in tow, explaining to Jett the procedure to get him to the hotel safely.

The truth was that even if Jett wanted to go out with his teammates, he wouldn’t be allowed to. They were waiting to hear back from Mari about how his latest interview had been received, and there was still a chance that fans and press would be waiting for them to leave. It was better to be safe right now until they knew for sure the subject of Jett’s brother had been dropped.

They were escorted to the car and driven to the hotel. Jett convinced one of their two security guys to stop for fast food, and hisrequest was granted. Jett gleefully devoured his nuggets before they made it to the hotel, offering Harrison a bite of each one, which Harrison accepted because he couldn’t deal with how cute his boyfriend was.

At the hotel, he expected security to ditch them the moment they were dropped safely out front, but they escorted them to their room and didn’t leave until they were inside with the door locked.

“Talk about going overboard,” said Jett, sighing as he tossed his bag to the floor and began taking off his stuffy suit.

Harrison chuckled and followed his example. The car and the hotel had air conditioning, but it was humid in Florida—too humid to be walking around in stiff cotton buttoned up to his neck.

He couldn’t help but look around the extravagant room, shaking his head at the place. “What is this, the honeymoon suite?”

Fuck, he needed a shower so he could warm his leg. It had been aching a lot lately, and it was becoming annoying.

“Uh, yeah.” The tone in Jett’s voice had him turning to look into nervous golden eyes. “Is it…too much? I told them not to serve us alcohol, but I figured we could enjoy the hot tub and try to relax. I know I’ve stressed you out lately, but—”

Harrison clamped a hand over his mouth to stop him. “Calm down, Sunshine. I was only joking. I’m not mad you booked us a nice room. Jesus.”

When he drew his hand back, the sad smile Jett gave him nearly broke his heart.
