‘You have nothing to be sorry for,’ she said, flinging herself into his arms and kissing him passionately.
Drawing away from him, she now saw that his eyes were suffused with happiness.
‘I love it. And I love you. Thank you,’ she whispered, kissing him again.
‘I love you too,’ he murmured against her mouth. ‘Just do me one favour?’
‘Yes?’
‘No matter how mad at me you get in the future, please don’t throw this one away?’ His eyes twinkled with mirth.
Daisy grinned back, kissing him hard on the mouth to seal the deal.
‘I promise.’
She laughed as he picked her up in his arms and swung her round, then placed her carefully back down on the sand, so he could dance across the beach with her, the two of them moving together to their own secret rhythm.
