“Don’t ruin this,” I whispered, pulling him down to me again.

Our next kiss began slowly, a languid exploration, as if it were our very first. My lips glided over his, my tongue teasing the seam of his mouth, pleading for entry. Noctis opened up at once, deepening our connection, need blooming to life between us. My hands roamed over his body, driven by an insatiable hunger for his warmth.

Every touch was a silent plea.Hold me. Be with me. Love me.And when he answered perfectly, it transformed into a fervent demand. He groaned as I gripped the firm length of his cock without warning, a violent tremble seizing his entire body. A spark ignited in his eyes, and suddenly, my feet left the ground as he spun us around. My back collided with the shower wall with bone-rattling force, not that I cared. I pressed myself against him, winding my legs around his hips. Giddy excitement flashed through me at how hard he felt against me. I needed to have him inside me.

“Tell me to stop, Baradaz.” One hand grabbed my ass as he balanced me to bunch up my dress, the soaked material clinging to my skin, his voice a low growl. “Tell me to stop or I won’t be able to.”

“Don’t stop,” I answered, shifting my hips to help him drag down my underthings. “Don’t stop,” I pleaded as his fingers found their way between my thighs, discovering how ready I already was for him. “Don’t stop,” I moaned, glad his impatience was as great as mine, our bodies joining the instant all barriers were out of the way.

Oh, yes. My head fell back against the wood at the incredible sensation of him entering me. How could I have forgotten the sheer bliss of his touch? How had I managed to survive all this time without feeling his warmth, his presence?

Curse fate. Curse anyone condemning us. I was never letting him go again.

“Stars, the way you feel around me…”

Noctis’s stricken tone brought my gaze to him as he gave voice to the turmoil within me. My heart ached at the sight. Never had I seen him so overcome. His wet hair plastered to his head, a look of such wonder on his face I had to reach out for him. Our foreheads pressed together, every shaking breath shared, his thrusts inside me so hard my back scraped against the wood. I loved every moment. A wild laugh escaped me, and I clenched around him, eager to feel him even deeper.

“Baradaz.” He tensed up with a choked gasp of my name, something close to desperation flitting over his face. Two deep, unrelenting thrusts that hit the perfect spot. Sharp pleasure surged through me and I cried out. Noctis buried his face against my neck with a hoarse groan, his hands tightening around me.

Wet heat trickled down my thigh. It took me a moment to realize what it meant. I watched Noctis catch his breath, my surprise giving way to satisfaction. He rarely lost control like this, and it only fueled my desire into a tempest.

“Fuck,” he muttered, his cheeks flushed with an endearing, almost boyish embarrassment. “That didn’t exactly go as planned.”

I suppressed a grin, not wanting him to misread my amusement. Instead, I leaned in and pressed a reassuring kiss to his lips. “You’ve been thinking about this?” I asked softly.

His smile carried a hint of danger, his body warm and solid against mine under the shower. “Saeraery,” he replied, running his fingers through my wet hair. “If I did only half the things to you that I’ve been thinking about, you wouldn’t leave my bed for a tenday.”

“That sounds like a promise,” I breathed, my mind racing with a dozen tantalizing possibilities.

Noctis’s lips traced a burning path along my jaw as he slid an arm beneath my knees and lifted me as if I weighed nothing. “Let me make it up to you,” he murmured, and turned off the shower. Then he carried me into the house.

Water dripped from my dress and hair, leaving a trail as we entered the main room.

“Your floors are getting wet,” Noctis remarked, a playful smirk on his lips.

“Curse the floors,” I replied, burying my face against his shoulder. “Take me to the bedroom.”

We never made it to the bed. My lips found those irresistible birthmarks I adored so much. I sank my teeth into them. He groaned, and an instant later, he had me sprawled on the dining table, hovering over me with a wild light dancing in his eyes.

“I guess that means you’ve missed me,” I said with a provoking smile.

“Fifty years, little queen,” he growled. “Fifty fucking years. You have no idea how much I’ve missed you.”

While it was neither our first nor our longest separation, I had to agree with him. Never had I yearned for him more. Need thrummed in my very bones as he pulled me into another deep kiss, returning my earlier favor with a sharp nip to my lip.

“I missed your smile.” He tugged my dress over my head and threw it on the ground unceremoniously, then peppered dozens ofkisses on my throat and the tops of my breasts. “I missed every inch of your skin, which seems barely able to contain the fierce light of your being.”

My eyes fluttered shut as I savored the wonderful sensations coursing through me. His gentle touch on my cheek brought my gaze back to him.

“I missed the brightness of your eyes,” he murmured, his voice filled with longing. “They see me in a way no one else ever has or ever will.” His fingers traced a path to my temple, lingering there. “I missed your mind,” he continued, a roguish smile playing on his lips. “Fierce, strong, and always challenging me.”

Our fingers tangled as we fought with the bindings of my chemise, both all too eager to get rid of the garment. With a little laugh, Noctis peeled it off, baring me to him.

“I definitely missed your breasts,” he said earnestly, rolling their full weight in his hands with a contented sigh. “Perfectly made for my hands.”

“Oh, I am so glad you approve,” I gasped out as he sucked one nipple into his mouth.

“It’s no chore.” The insolent twinkle was back in Noctis’s eyes. He licked and teased my nipples as if they were the most delectable treat. Desire pooled hot and molten between my legs at the exquisite attention. “They are made to be worshipped.”
