Good thing, because neither was I.

“Yeah,” I said. “We might have a problem.”

He must’ve been caught off guard by my answer, because he backed off me just enough that I had room to turn around and face him.

“I never thought you’d be a tease,” I said, watching the frown he wore morph into a look of surprise.

“Excuse me?”

“You heard me.” I took a step forward, causing Killian to back up until there was enough space between us that I wasn’t at risk of grabbing him and doing something stupid like kissing him. “You spent hours yesterday trying to convince me we should try whatever this is only to blow me off? You told me this wasn’t a game, and yet here we are.”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa.” Killian put his hands up. “You think I blew you off?”

I snorted. “Not literally, that’s for sure.”

“Wait…what?” Rubbing his forehead, he turned away only to spin back around. “You’re pissed because I didn’t invite myself inside last night?”

“Pretty sure you knew you had an open invitation.” When Killian’s face paled, I rolled my eyes. “Don’t act so surprised. I was practically begging for it.”

“Huh. Well, it would’ve been nice if you had actually asked for it instead of assuming.”

“Doesn’t matter now.” Shrugging, I started back to the catering table to finish checking inventory, but Killian grabbed my arm.

“I was trying to be a nice guy. I was trying to give you what I thought you wanted.”

“Guess there’s a lot you still have to learn about me.”

His hold on my arm stayed firm. “Does that mean I’ll actually get the chance to?”

There it was, the dilated pupils and lust that glazed over his bright blue eyes when he looked at me. It was like striking a match—we both reached for each other at the same time, our lips crashing together, him grasping at my tie as I threaded my fingers through his dark hair, bringing him in closer.

Killian’s mouth fit against mine perfectly, and when I ran my tongue along his lower lip, begging for entry, he gave it without hesitation. Hot, desperate breaths were all I could hear as we devoured each other, making up for lost time. He pulled me in closer, and there was no denying that whatever game he’d been teasing me with last night was over. He was hard behind his jeans, and as he gripped my ass to pull me even closer, my own erection strained with the need to be satisfied by this man, somehow, someway, right now.

I walked us forward until Killian’s back hit the wall, and then I rubbed my covered dick alongside his, dying for some kind of relief even as his kiss left me dizzy and breathless. My rules flew out the window, the ones that said fooling around with clients was forbidden, as well as no fucking in the workplace.

Because that was what was about to happen here. What I wanted.

A good, long fucking. And I wanted it with the man making the hottest sounds of pleasure I’d ever heard.

“Still think this is a game?” Killian said, his breath hitching as he deftly unbuttoned my jeans. I pushed my hips forward, wanting his hands on me, needing—

A loud banging on the door made my thoughts shut down, both of us freezing as familiar voices shouted through the door.

“Hello?” Slade called out. More banging. “Why’s the door fucking locked?”

“Let me try.” The handle jiggled, and then Jagger pounded. “Yo, who’s in there? Killian? You better not be eating all my chocolate koalas, man.”

“Jesus Christ.” Killian still gripped my open pants and both of us were breathing heavily, but as the pounding started again and one of the guys called for security to open the door, we both dropped our holds on each other.

My eyes were still on Killian’s as I backed away, tucking in my shirt and buttoning it back up. His lips were red, his hair tousled from my hands being in it, and fuck, he’d never been sexier.

I want him, I thought. I want him no matter the consequences. I would’ve taken every piece of him if we hadn’t been interrupted. I would’ve worshipped the rock god standing before me while on my knees, until my name was a prayer he uttered over and over again.

As Killian kicked off the wall, the voices outside grew louder. Reaching into my back pocket for my wallet, I quickly pulled out what I needed and held it out to Killian.

When he saw what it was, he grinned cockily.

“Room ten thirteen, in case you forgot,” I said, as he took my spare room key and slid it into his pocket.

“Breaking the rules… I approve.” Killian brushed his thumb across my lips.

Keys jingled outside the door, and I grabbed hold of his wrist.

“After the show,” I said, nipping at the tip of his thumb. “Maybe we can break some more rules.”
