Oh fae lords, I’m going to come.My moans and gasps grow louder. I fear he’s going to split me in two, but suddenly I welcome the prospect of him breaking me in this way.
“That’s it, pet,” he urges.
“Fuck Brex, I’m so close.” I hold onto his shoulders for dear life as he pounds into me. My body fractures and my heart goes with it. A pain and pleasure so addictive, I never want it to stop.
“Look at me,” he commands hoarsely, slowing as I rock jerkily on top of him. I do what he asks, working to keep my eyes open as my sighs and screams carry through the bone shattering release.
Then he comes with a loud groan, eyes fighting to stay open and on me. Heat floods my center, causing another shudder to rock me.
Brexley’s right there with me, forcing me to surrender everything along with him. And I gladly do so.
“Fuck, you’re gorgeous,” he breathes, running a thumb along my lower lip.
To him, I’m not a freak, I’m not a broken, talentless nobody, living in the shadow of someone else. To Brexley, I’m everything and it causes a sob to catch in my chest.
I collapse on him where he envelopes me in strong arms. I’ve died and gone to heaven.
We stay that way for a while, with his softening cock inside me as he strokes my hair. Prickling starts at the backs of my eyes. I’ve felt alone for so long, deep at my core. I’ve kept even my friends at a distance, but Brexley takes all of me and the gift is beyond anything else.
“I love you,” I murmur into his pecs.
“I love you.” His words are muffled in my hair.
Considering all we’ve done, I can’t help but laugh at our sudden shyness.
I don’t have another final until tomorrow, and I’m prepared enough for that. So we spend the rest of the morning making love and taking time just to touch each other. Brexley only disappears to receive the massive food orders we send out for. Between my being on the brink of starvation and him being a hungry wolf, we plow through a scary amount of Chinese food.
At last, when afternoon comes, Brexley suggests we shower. I insist I need to check on the rabbits and then I’ll join him. So I throw on one of his t-shirts and pad downstairs. After refreshing the rabbits’s water and petting their heads, I catch sight of my cell phone on the counter. I grab and see there is a missed voicemail from Rap.
Maybe she needs to change the schedule for the night shift. That’s usually why she calls.
I hit play and listen.
“Red, it’s me. I don’t know how to tell you this. But I did some digging on your boyfriend, and I thought you’d want to know. He goes by another name.” her voice is hesitant as it is clipped and determined. “The Big Bad Wolf. He’s a notorious assassin, Red. He’s killed a lot of mages, even his share of humans and fae.”
I reach down to pet Bangs soft ear. This is nothing I don’t know. I don’t think too hard on why it doesn’t freak me out.
Rap goes on. “And Red, he’s here on a mission. He’s been tasked to kill your grandma.”
My fingers pause on Bangs as I take that in.
“I can’t betray my confidant, but I need you to trust me. Come to the Poison Apple right away, we’ll work this out. I’ll get the ward redone to keep him out. We’ll keep you safe, I promise.”
The message ends. I straighten and hold out my phone, staring at it.
It’s silly. Totally wrong.
Why does my body feel so cold?
Have you heard from Gigi?
Do you know where she could be?
Is it normal for her to go this long without contacting you?
So many little nudges to tell him about her. I found Brexley in Gigi’s bathroom, no one else around. Hunter didn’t know who he was. Numbly, I walk upstairs.
This can’t be right, but something in my gut tells me it is.
