Inside the building I acquired with my mother’s inheritance, I provide a full range of comprehensive care services including onsite medical services, housing, counseling, and—if necessary—rooms for police to interview victims in a safe setting. Still, early on, I fluctuated between minimal and ultimate despair when the director would inform me of another person whose case didn’t fair well—whether that was emotionally or within the courts.

This building is my final salvation.
