“Okay- one more time, and then we can figure out the outside world
situation.”
“One more time…”
One more time was a lie. Twice more was also a lie, but a much better
one. Jacob could get used to this. It wasn’t until he got up to go to the
bathroom that he even remembered that Teddy had been there the whole
time.
“Having fun?” Teddy asked as Jacob was in mid stream.
“Good god!” Jacob screamed. “What the fuck was that?”
“I’ve lost count. To be honest I didn’t know you had it in you.” Teddy
giggled. “You’re enjoying yourself aren’t you?”
“Of course. The man is perfect. He tried my love spell and now he’s all
mine!” Jacob laughed.
“Oh yeah. All yours. I’m not sure how this one could backfire.” “It won’t. I feel it. It’s right.”
“Do you want a reality check now or should I wait?” Teddy asked. “What do you mean?”
“Look kid, all your spells so far have backfired in one shape or another.
This one probably will too. It’s not being mean, it’s statistics.” Teddy
began.
Jacob frowned.
“I don’t like your statistics.”
“You don’t like any statistics. That’s why you’re a coffee slave.” Teddy
shook his beak.
“I’m a barrista.”
“You’re the world’s most accessible drug dealer.” Teddy said. “you
know there are millions of people every minute who overdose on caffeine
and no one talks about it? I blame big coffee.”
“That can’t be true.” Jacob paused.
“Shows what you know.” Teddy responded. “Look, just be careful. This
might not be a love spell- I don’t even know if love spells actually exist.
It’s probably an infatuation experience at best.”
