a Templar!”

“I said he might be a Templar…But he probably is.” Teddy responded.

“And yes. I know you at this point. You are absolutely going to go take a

shower with him.”

“You have no proof of that.” Jacob responded as the shower sprung to

life.

“Are you coming?” Joe called into the kitchen.

“I’ll be right back.” Jacob responded.

“Yeah you will.” Teddy cawed.

After the shower they had breakfast, which was uneventful. At first Jacob was concerned that everything Joe was doing was an

attempt on his life.

“What is this?” Jacob asked. “Is it poison?”

“Close. It’s ketchup.” Joe responded as he put it on Jacob’s eggs. As time went on Jacob had to admit the company was nice. There was a

level of comfort just being around someone who Jacob knew wanted to be

around him. Was this what being a couple felt like? It was peaceful, cozy

and somehow natural. There was something in him that could tell that Joe

felt the same. He didn’t know if it was because of the magic, or just because

it was him, but either way, it was good. So it made him wary. “What do you have for the day ahead?” Joe finally asked.

“I’m just going to work my shift- last day before the weekend!” Jacob

smiled. They talked like they’d been together for years. “I’m happy to get

two days off. What are you going to do with your weekend?” “Apart from you?” Joe responded. Jacob choked a bit on his coffee.

“Well I do work on the weekend you know.”

“Right…That whole church thing.” Jacob shook his head- obviously. “That’s exactly correct.” Joe smiled. “Did you want to join me?” “On Sunday? I say- No. I mean…I don’t know.” Jacob was caught off

guard.

“Oh come on. I’d love to have you see what I do best.”

“Chastize sinners?” Jacob asked.

“Encourage people to be their authentic human selves.” Joe replied. “I

think you’d find a nice little group of people there to enjoy.” “I think that’s what my trivia night is for.” Jacob chuckled. “But…You

know what? Sure. Let’s do it. I’d love to come.”

“That’s great.” Joe’s face lit up.
