“When do you get off?” Joe responded.
“I just did.” Jacob smirked.
“I have tonight and tomorrow off. Let’s go out.”
“Go out? Like in public?” Jacob felt his insides wriggle slightly. “Like
to be seen by other people?”
“We’ve gone out before-”
“Yes. To a movie theatre with a bunch of…” Jacob tried to find a word
that wasn’t geeks.
“Geeks?” Joe responded.
“Yeah, that fits.” Jacob responded. “I think- I just wanted to know if”
“Let’s go dancing. I haven’t been dancing in ages. I just want to unwind
and relax and be seen with a beautiful man.” Joe said.
“Which one?” Jacob responded.
“You self-deprecate too much.” Joe grabbed Jacob’s hands. Jacob
melted.
“Okay. Yes. Let’s do that. Let’s go…dancing.”
“Excellent. I’ll pick you up as soon as you’re done. I can’t wait for the
world to see us together.” Joe gave him a big kiss, walked to the exit and
walked out of the store. “See you soon!”
“See you soon.” Jacob responded. He sighed and looked at Teddy who
was once again glaring at him in the way that only a seagull withan
attitude can do. “What?”
“You’re going dancing?” Teddy mused.
“What’s the worst that could happen?”
“I’ve seen you walk. I can’t imagine anyone will want to see you dance.”
Teddy responded.
“People love to see me dance. I’m a great dancer.”
