I’m being herded out of the room we’re in and to somewhere more secluded. I don’t know if I’m in the bowels of this convention center or what. I text Hannah again.
Me: I apparently have to put on new clothes and do a photo shoot, all GQ style. Except in sneakers and shorts.
Hannah: Now this, I want to see. You probably only have one expression, like Zoolander.
Hannah makes me laugh.
Me: I’ll have you know, I can do both Blue Steel AND Magnum.
Me: I’ll text you when I know where I’m going to be so you can meet up with me.
Hannah: What if I don’t want to? What if I’m busy following around some other star? You assume an awful lot.
Me: So are you going to run away on me again?
Hannah: I won’t run if you don’t.
She’s got me there.
But no matter what happens with my career, I can’t see myself ever moving on from Hannah.
Not again.
Chapter 24: Hannah
Time away from Callaghanis good. It’s what I need to clear my head and do my job. He’s a distraction I didn’t count on. And can’t afford.
I made up for lost time, cranking out about six videos forThe Looking Glass.I think Gunther had given up on me.
I’ll show him.
I’ll show them all.
And I’ve uncovered some good stuff too. I’m happy with my delivery and the quality of the videos. My color commentary on the aesthetics of the new tracksuits and sneakers, done as if I were calling a game, is brilliant, if I do say so myself.
All I’m saying is I’d better get this job. I’m putting a lot of work into this free content for them, all in the name of my audition.
