“Tell him?” There was something to that, wasn’t there? Something that made her mad. Beyond furious. Something she needed to remember.

Wind whipped up.

Thunder cracked.

Lightning illuminated the darkness.

Illuminatedhim.

The hooded figure was a towering man with black diamond chips for eyes. Hard features. Intense thoughts. A furious soul.

“You’re a wizard,” she whispered. “A dark wizard.Mywizard.” Her heart slammed into her throat. “A keeper of souls.”

“A keeper of memories,” he corrected. His voice still seemed distant. Caught on the wind. “A keeper of your memories. Of his memories.”

She considered shifting to her dragon so she appeared more impressive but knew it was far too risky. “Who’she?”

“He is who you forgot. The one who needs to receive your message.”

“What message?”

“One that prophesizes what must come.”

“And what’s that?”

“The beginning of it all.” He leaned closer. His diamond chip eyes turned to coal. His hard features grew intriguingly grotesque. “And the end of life as you know it.”

RAVEN JOLTED AWAKEbefore the wizard said another word. Before he thrust her into a memory born of fire. One that left her with more questions than answers.
