“They both loved her at one time.”

Her cheeks warmed at the way he looked at her. As though some part of him knew they would eventually feel that way for each other. It would be unavoidable.

Riona leaned against the counter beside them. “Which brothers?”

“Not Declán.” Cian’s hopeful gaze never left Madison’s eyes. “Will you come with me?”

“Do I have a choice?”

“You always have a choice.” His gaze flickered from her lips to her eyes as though he couldn't help himself. “Please come, Madison. Please help me.”

Just like she had needed to in her dream. Yet now, it seemed so much more pressing. More than Cian was willing to admit. More than his pride would allow. More than the desire so clear in his eyes.

“Will you?” he prompted.

Would she?

Or was she willing to live in an alternate reality?

A different present day?

The answer was simple enough.










Chapter Four

“YES, I’LL COME withyou,” Madison said, much to Cian's relief. “Under one condition.”

“Name it.”

“My raven, Oran, comes with me.”

“Your familiar?” Need she ask? “Of course. He should always be by your side.”

Madison’s delicately arched brows pulled together. “My familiar?”

“Ta, your spirit guide.” Right on time, a raven landed on the windowsill and cocked its head at him. “Every druidess has one.”
