“Then why was Liam in your recent dream? And in the ones before it?”

“Like I said. Because I heard him outside my tent.” She looked skyward. “And let’s be honest. It was more of a nightmare than a dream.”

“So was mine of Declán,” Riona reminded. “And look how far we’ve come.”

“Good for you two, but it's not happening for us.” She narrowed her eyes. “And I never mentioned Liam being in any of my previous dreams.”

“Nope.” Riona tapped her temple, sat down, and started sketching haphazardly again. “But you thought it.”

“No, I didn’t,” she fibbed.

“Ta.” Liam sounded no happier about it than her. “You did.”

He proceeded to tell her the last thing she wanted to hear.

Chapter Two

“IHAVE HAD your dream, too, Shannon,” Liam said. “Many times now.”

While it was the last thing he wanted to share, it seemed necessary somehow. More than that, as much as he couldn’t imagine ever committing to one lass, the idea of Shannon being with Aodh didn’t sit well. He refused to let it happen.

Liam could deny it all he wanted because Shannon was a truly difficult woman, but he had wanted her since the moment he’d laid eyes on her. From her light auburn hair to her thickly lashed almond-shaped pale cedar eyes, he had yet to come across a lovelier creature. Her lips were full, and her features delicate. She was the shortest of the sisters but seemed taller somehow.

Then there was her body. The voluptuousness of her breasts. The flare of her hips. She was built to be touched. To enjoy the pleasures he could offer her. And hewouldoffer them before all was said and done. He would rip away her uptight façade with ecstasy of the flesh and make sure she thought more kindly of Irishmen before they went their separate ways.

“You’ve had Shannon’s dream before, Liam?” Riona perked up at that. “Why didn’t you tell us sooner?”

In all honesty, Riona would have been a better fit for him, but that kind of attraction hadn’t been there betwixt them from thestart. Strange, considering she was almost as lovely as Shannon and a much better fit personality-wise. Flirtatious and happy, where Shannon was neither of those. Not that he had witnessed thus far, anyway.

“I didn’t tell anyone I had dreamt of Shannon,” he replied, as blunt as Shannon would likely be in his position, “because I didn’t like the dreams. Nor did I want to have them. Now that I know they could play a part in helping save Ireland and my kingdom, ‘tis best to pay closer attention to them.”

“I would think,” Riona agreed as Shannon sat down. “You’re the first of your brothers to actually share a dream with one of my sisters.” She gave him and Shannon a look neither much liked. “I’d say that more than confirms you were in love before and will be again.”

“No,” Shannon said as he said, “Nay.”

“That doesn’t confirm anything.” Logic to a fault, Shannon scowled at him before looking at Riona again. “It does, as much I hate to say it, seem notable, though. Like Liam said, worth paying attention to.”

Notable? He couldn’t help but chuckle. Mostly because he knew it irritated her. Sure, that worked against his goal of getting her into bed, but something about watching her visibly tense and her features harden, gave him a strange sort of satisfaction.Almostas though he were paying her back for something. Having some sort of mini-revenge every time he goaded her.

“’Tisnotable.” He winked at her. “And enough of a connection with me that youwilltravel back to my kingdom so that we might see how you can help my people. Help Ireland’s future.”
