“That’s what you ask? Seriously?” He shoves his hands into his hair again and paces in a circle. “This is a problem. This should have never happened.” He gestures between us and it feels like I was hit with a sword. The words are franticly said, and he knows he has to get away from me.

“Nice. Thanks. I feel so much better now.” My words drip with sarcasm. When Nathan doesn’t respond, I can’t stand it anymore. I make a beeline for the door and toss back over my shoulder, “So much for promises, Professor.”

“Kerry, wait.” Nathan calls out, but I don’t stop.

When I tug the door open, I slam into a hard chest wearing a tight black tailored shirt and a leather jacket. The scent of his cologne hits me. It’s something expensive and woodsy. It’s bottled sexy man smell.

I glance up and nearly die when I see the man I’ve smashed into. “Peter Ferro.”
