“Later,” she said. “After we get to the hotel. Not now.”

“Why not now?”

“Because that’s too easy,” Amber said.

“For you, maybe,” I said.

“Do you think it’s this is easy for me? Stopping right on the verge of orgasm?”

“No,” I said, conceding the point. “I guess not.”

“That’s right,” she said. “It’s no easier for me than it is for you.”

“Then why do it? Why put yourself through that if you don’t have to?”

“Because that’s how you grow,” Amber said. “By putting yourself into uncomfortable situations. It’s good for you.”

“If you say so,” I said as I tried to stuff my cock back into my pants. It was still hard, making the process more difficult than usual.

“Want some help with that?” Amber asked, her mouth turned up in a half-smile.

“No, I got it,” I said, completing the process with a careful zip. “You’ve done enough damage for now, thank you very much.”

Amber laughed. “You’re so cute when you try to act angry.”

“Yeah, yeah,” I said, using every ounce of my energy to keep from smiling. “Now just sit there and keep your hands to yourself until we get to the hotel. I need to concentrate if I’m going to try and drive with all the blood in my body having been diverted to the wrong head.”

I started the engine and began the process of making it back onto the freeway.

I was chomping at the bit to get Amber up to the room and continue where we’d left off in the car, but first we had some business to take care of.

First was a stop at a liquor store, where we picked up a case of beer, half a dozen bottles of wine and a small bottle of Jack Daniels. Plus a few things to snack on.

Once that was taken care of, we made our way to the hotel parking lot. I parked the car and we headed towards the lobby. Amber took care of her own bags because I had my hands full with the all the alcohol, but she didn’t mind. She wasn’t the kind of girl that needed someone to carry her bags. Which was refreshing as hell.

Behind the check-in counter was a blonde in her mid-twenties. According to the tag on her blouse her name was Tiffany. She was stuffed into the hotel chain’s uniform, her hair was pinned up like a businesswoman and she wore very little makeup. But she was definitely attractive. The uniform couldn’t completely hide her ample breasts and her face was cute and plump. And her smile lit up the room.

“Can I help you?” Tiffany said.

“We’re here to check in,” Amber said.

“The name?”

“It’s under Phillips. Amber.”

At the mention of the name, Tiffany glanced up from the computer screen and looked at Amber with a slightly tilted head. Tiffany had a curious look on her face, like she recognized the name. But she didn’t say anything, and after a moment, she returned her gaze to the screen.

After tapping away at the keyboard for a few seconds, she printed out a piece of paper for Amber to sign and made us a couple of keys. Then she gave us directions to the room. But she spoke quickly, as though nervous about something.

And the look on Amber’s face gave a hint that she saw it too, and perhaps even knew what it was about. She offered Tiffany a little half-smile, not threatening, not condescending, but empathetic, as though she understood exactly what Tiffany was going through.

It wasn’t until after Tiffany was done with her spiel and we’d picked up our belongings in preparation for heading up to the room that she said to Amber, “Do I know you from somewhere?”

“I don’t know,” Amber said in a tone that spoke of possibilities. “Maybe.”

“Have you been in here before?” Tiffany asked.
