She had stayed next to Ronan in the hospital when he suffered from a ruptured appendix and taught Liam how to dance the night before his senior prom. She wasn’t really surprised at hearing how giving Astrid was. That was just her.

“About this dress,” Liam said, walking into her apartment. He took hold of her wrist in one hand and locked her door with the other. “I sincerely hope it’s easy to get off.” With a gentle tug, she found herself against his chest. He pulled her into a kiss. Removing the hair tie, he eased his hands into her hair, angling her head to deepen it.

She ran her hands up his chest to his tie. Thank God he wore a tie clip, she wasn’t sure her sex-addled brain would be able to work with a pin. She pulled the tie out from his collar and moved to his belt.

She felt him toe out of his shoes and was about to step out of hers when she heard him growl. “Leave them on.”

Chi had chosen a pair of simple black heels that had a tiny strap around her ankle. Usually, she didn’t wear shoes with this high of a heel to church, but he was so damn tall, and she didn’t want to feel like part of the Lollipop Guild.

Her dress glided to the floor to pool at her feet. She pushed his shirt off his shoulders to add to the growing pile.

“Come here,” he said, sliding his hands around the back of her thighs. He lifted her to his waist, and she wrapped her legs around him. He carried her to the table that sat in her excuse of a dining area.

She worried for a moment when he laid her down if it would hold her weight.

That thought flew out of her head when he grabbed her legs, pulling her to the edge. Easing down on his knees, he shoved her thighs apart. A moan escaped her mouth when his tongue ran languidly through her folds.

Chi tried her best to keep the heels of her shoes from gouging into his back, but the harder he worked her clit, the harder she spurred him with them. Somehow through the fog, she realized that every time she dug into his back, he moaned as he stepped up his almost frantic pace to bring her to climax.

Waves of pleasure washed over her, more powerful than she’d ever experienced in the past.

“Liam,” she whispered. She needed to be careful. It would be very easy to say something they would both come to regret. She would not fall for this man. She refused.

Liam looked up at her from his knees. She watched as he stood to unhook his pants. “Remembered to buy condoms,” he said, sliding one down his hard cock. He took her hand and helped her off the table. Spinning her around, he pushed her down against it.

“Fuck, these shoes.” She wasn’t sure what he was talking about since she was now face-down on the table. “They’re the perfect height.” He pushed inside her with one hard thrust until he was fully seated. When he didn’t move, she started to worry.

“Liam?”

“Give me a second.” She sat quietly, trying to adjust to his girth while holding onto the edge of the table. Brad had never done anything like this. No, sex with Liam was on a whole other level.

When he began to move, it wasn’t with the gentle long strokes he had used before. It was, quite simply, a pounding, and it lit up everything inside her body.

He wrapped an arm around her stomach and pulled her up against his chest. Her bra fell free, and she wondered how she missed him unhooking it. That’s right, he had rendered her mind completely blank with every thrust.

With a quick kiss to the back of her neck, he pulled out. He spun her around, pushing her back down on the table. Sliding her to the edge, he thrust back into her before pulling both of her legs tightly against his chest, her feet at his head.

That was when she discovered what he was doing before wasn’t pounding. It was tame compared to what he began to do now. The new position made her eyes almost roll back in her head.

“Liam,” she groaned as she felt her next orgasm barreling toward her. With a gasp, she let it wash over her. She found him resting with his hands on the table on either side of her, his brow beaded with sweat.

“Maybe you shouldn’t wear those shoes anymore.” She chuckled at his words. He looked at her with a soft smile, his bright green eyes dancing. “Are you okay?”

Was she okay? No, not even close. She had just learned that sex could be raw and uncontrollable and amazing. She wanted to do it again, and she wanted to do it with Liam. Fuck, what was she going to do? She couldn’t fall for him. “Chiara?”

“I’m just wondering how many other colors these shoes come in.” Liam laughed and helped her off the table. He wrapped his long arms around her for stability as she took off the shoes. She pulled him down so she could kiss his full lips again. Stepping back, he gave her a sad look.

“I hate to do this,” he said. “But come take a shower with me, then I need to go. Everyone’s supposed to be home soon, and I don’t think they would understand if I told them I would rather stay here. I’m sorry.”

“They’re going to be so excited to see you,” Chi said, taking his hand. “I need to get ready for work tomorrow anyway.”

They showered and dressed. All too soon, she was holding the door for him.

“I’m not sure what’s planned, so I’ll call you when I have the chance?” Liam said. Was he asking permission to see her again? She reminded herself that she had no right to his time if this was to stay casual.

“Yeah, no, you need to spend as much time as you can with your family. I know they’ve missed you. I’ll see you around. I work at the bar Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week, so I’ll, for sure, see you then if you’re around.” He stood studying her just long enough for her to start wiggling.

“This feels awkward, but I don’t know how to make it better. I don’t want to leave,” he said.
