“Yes, but all capitals. T-H-E D-O-U-C-H-E-B-A-G,” Sam answered.
“I think that gives him too much credit. I think it should be all lowercase so he doesn’t look like he takes up too much of our time. t-h-e d-o-u-c-h-e-b-a-g. Or even just d-o-u-c-h-e like the rest is too much effort,” Karlie added.
Chi placed her head in her hands. “Really, guys? Is that what’s important?”
“Sorry, back to your disgruntlement, thanks to just douche,” Sam answered.
She always was the hardcore one.
“Anyway, I met a guy last night. Figured it wouldn’t hurt just to have a little fun.”
“Laying some pipe,” Sam said.
“Bumping uglies,” added Karlie.
“Stroking the kitty.”
“Doing the mattress mambo.”
“Knocking boots.”
“It’s Liam Donnelly,” Chi finally blurted out, feeling a headache coming on, listening to them go back and forth.
Both women turned to stare at her, mouths open. Throwing her hands over her head in exacerbation, Chi slumped down on the couch.
“How?” Karlie finally asked.
“Damn, Kar. You have two kids. If you don’t know how it’s done, I don’t think we can help you,” Sam said with a smirk.
“Shut up. I mean, I thought he was in the Army somewhere.”
“He is,” Chiara answered. “He’s in town for two weeks before being deployed again. He came in early last night.”
“And what, you just happen to welcome him home by jumping onto his cock? A poster wouldn’t work?” Karlie asked. “Chiara, what were you thinking? You just got out of a relationship. I’m not sure you should be jumping right back into one so quick.”
“But that’s why Liam’s perfect. He’ll be gone again in two weeks. He’s just helping me wipe the taste of Brad out of my mouth, so to speak.”
“Wait,” Sam said, interrupting. “We’re talking about little Liam Donnelly, right? The one Dean and I busted Dean’s left nut to make sure he got considered for West Point. We went to his graduation with Parker and Astrid. That Liam? You’ve got his taste in your mouth now?”
“Yes?” Chi said. As if they knew a multitude of Liams.
Sam sat back, considering, “Yeah, I get that. He turned out pretty nice, with big broad shoulders and those abs. Yummy.”
“Sam! You’re not helping.” Karlie said. “Oh shit. Max will kill him.”
“Max will not kill him because Max will never know. You can’t tell him, Karlie. Promise me,” Chiara said.
“I won’t lie to him, Chi.” Karlie was shaking her head at the thought.
Shit, she should have never told her sister-in-law. She had no doubt Max would kill Liam if he found out they were just pulling a “friends with benefits” thing.
Just the handful of fellow SWAT officers standing outside of Brad’s apartment, staring at him as he went to work for a week had been enough for her ex-douche to squirm. Finding out some guy was using his little sister for sex with no intention of anything more would send him over the edge.
“You don’t have to lie, just don’t say anything,” she begged.
“Chi, you do know he’s a cop, right? He sniffs out nefarious intentions like a bloodhound sniffs out a bone,” Sam said.
“Nefarious intentions? That’s at least worth ten points,” Karlie responded.
