“Only way to do the shit.”

“Now if you want the ‘Quasim and Blair stop playing games wedding package,’ let me and Pissy know. We can do this on either side of the beach”

I started laughing. “Love ya’ll beach…. But I gotta do it my own way. Aside from my grandparents, I would be the first to get married. Moms never married, Aunt never married… I gotta set my own traditions.”

“Khaos crazy ass ain’t getting married.” Capp muttered.

“Facts… nigga too wild.”

Cappadonna snorted. “It’s the wild ones that make good husbands. I know you got to do shit your own way, but my family’s beach is always there… you fam, G.”

“Appreciate you.”

“Moms said your mom is settled in.”

“Fussing and shit, right?”

I had to make the tough choice to move my moms out her apartment. The shit was hard because I knew she felt like her independence was being taken away from her. I’ve been wanting to move her out for years, and she was always too damn stubborn.

The only reason I felt comfortable enough playing the cards I did on Joey was because she was out the house. When Boobie told me she fell transferring to her bed, I knew that she needed help and needed to get out that apartment.

“Your aunt is staying with her. You did what needed to be done. It’s hard trying to raise our parents, but she should have been out the hood.”

I looked at him. “You ever argued with a Jamaican mother?”

“Nah. I have a hard enough time arguing with my Bajan one, so I don’t want the smoke.”

I laughed. “Need to figure out what the fuck I’m doing.”

Capone and Capp told me to move my moms onto the compound when I told them about the shit Joey pulled with Zoya. It was no question; they told me to move into one of the homes they had already built.

My moms was familiar with Jean and Des.

“Got a lot of shit I need to put into place… knowing she’s good, I can finally figure out what’s next.”

“You got this shit… something small to a giant.” Capp squeezed my shoulder, as he pulled up to my building.

“Yeah.”

I dapped him up as I got out his whip and headed into the building. Felt like I had a boulder on my shoulders, but I knew better than anyone that pressure made diamonds.

CHAPTER 27

ZOYA

“Doyou think you could actually be pregnant?” Stevie whispered, as she folded Dennis’s clothes while simultaneously packing her clothes for the trip.

I shrugged, feeling silly even thinking that I could be. “My period is never late. That bitch is always on time and ready to cause pain.”

“Have you spoken to Gerry?” She folded a pair of trousers, which took my focus off the fact that she called my man Gerry.

“I’m scared to tell him… I’m a teen mom.”

Stevie paused packing and looked at me. “Girl, what?”

I ran my hand through my hair. “I don’t know. I’m scared to tell him.”

Stevie sat down next to me on the floor and moved the pile of clothes she folded. “He told you to let him make you parents, right?”
