He looked behind him, then back at me. “You not gonna eat my food, so let me order us something to eat.”
“Good, because I’m not in the mood for soup this early.”
“Zoya, that shit ain’t soup,” he scolded me, then pinched my ass.
I laughed. “Whatever.”
He went back toward the kitchen and started cleaning. I noticed that Gerald was neat.
It was one of the things that I liked about him.
CHAPTER 16
GOON
Past
The doorbell and Zoya’s phone chimed at the same time, letting us know that Sigel had arrived. We both looked at each other, as I pulled her further into the kitchen. I had no choice but to stay where I was standing.
If I moved away from where I stood, he would be able to see through the glass front doors. I could tell she was nervous from the way she stood against me, not saying a word. It was as if she didn’t want to answer the door but knew she had to.
“Look at me, Baby Cakes.” I held her chin, as she looked up into my eyes, holding onto my forearms.
I could see the nervousness swirling in her eyes. “He might kill me… this man is a fucking serial killer,” she whispered.
“Look at me, Zoya.”
She gave me her full attention. “You think I’m gonna let something happen to you?”
“No, Gerald, bu?—”
“I’d fuck this entire house up behind you, baby… the moment that you feel uncomfortable, I’m coming out that pantry and doing homie in, okay?”
“Put that on Roxy?” she asked, as she bit her nail.
I pulled back, confused. “Nothing.”
`“I put that on you, Zoya. Never allowing shit to ever happen to you… even when you not around me.”
This bitch boy rang the door again, which pissed me off. I flashed out and was about to head around the corner and Zoya pulled me back while laughing. “Your temper is something else… you cannot answer the door.”
“Give that bitch that box and send him on his way. Stay in this kitchen, Zoya,” I sternly warned her ass.
She smirked. “Yes sir.”
I grabbed her up and kissed her lips, and she gasped. Her body surrendered to my touch, as I kissed her lips again.
“You want another one?”
She looked at me and nodded her head slowly. “Yes.”
Her voice was barely above a whisper as I kissed her soft full lips slowly. “Answer the door for bitch boy.” I told her, as I slipped into the pantry.
The pantry door had slats that I could see out of. Zoya fixed herself and then quickly rounded the corner to open the door.
“Damn, Zoya, what the hell took you so long?”
I couldn’t see him, but I could hear. “My lunch didn’t sit right with me. Think I’m coming down with a bug or something.” My baby quickly lied.
