“Not bad ones! Like aggressive ones, I mean,” Caden assured him.
“There are no bad ones!” Illarion stated.
“Ah, you would think there were if you let out a poison gas that killed everybody, right?” Both of Caden’s eyebrows lifted.
“Hmmmm, there’s something to that.” Illarion shrugged. His eyes narrowed. “Now have you had sex in your Dragon form?”
Valerius frozen. Caden did too. Raziel and Iolaire were currently curled around one another, sleeping. One of Raziel’s forelegs was resting possessively on Iolaire’s side. Black smoke leaked from his Spirit’s nostrils while a thin stream of frost issued from Iolaire’s. They looked so innocent. The thought of them having sex seemed wrong somehow.
“They kiss by resting their foreheads together,” Caden said, which sounded like a non sequitur.
“Yes, but kissing is not necessary to have sex,” Illarion pointed out.
“Yeah, but having sex organs is sort of necessary for the kind of sex you’re talking about,” Caden refuted.
“Why do you think Dragons don’t? Mephous has a huge Dragon cock.” Illarion bobbed his head.
Valerius was quiet for a moment and then said, “Bullshit! Dragons have no sex!’
“Oh, Raziel does not have a big Dragon cock?” Illarion grinned. “Perhaps Raziel is a female!”
“So what if Raziel is?” Valerius scowled at him. “What is it with your attitude towards women? You know they are equal to men.”
“They are the weaker sex,” Illarion insisted.
“You’re delusional,” Caden said with a shake of his head. “Your own experiences with Mei, Esme, Jahara and Kaila should show you that.”
“They are Dragon Shifters so, of course, they are unusual,” Illarion persisted.
“What about Rose? She’s no shrinking violet!” Caden insisted.
“She is a Bee Shifter. Again, a different type from the usual woman,” Illarion stated.
“Okay, Tilly.” Caden looked at Illarion triumphantly. “My sister took none of your shit.”
Illarion stroked his chin. “Your sister is also unusual.”
“Funny how every woman we’ve talked about is unusual,” Valerius pointed out dryly. “It is almost like all women are.”
“Mephous is still male with a large--”
“Dragon cock, yes, we know,” Caden replied with a sigh. “Have you seen it?”
Illarion was silent.
“You haven’t! You liar!” Valerius let out a bark of laughter that was loud enough to practically shake the SUV.
“I thought we were trying to be unobtrusive,” Illarion retorted acidly. “You are waking the whole neighborhood.”
“Not Landry’s parents though.” Caden gestured towards the house. The lights in the front room and television room were now out. “Looks like they’ve gone to bed.”
To mourn their children, Valerius thought sadly, but then shook himself.
Landry and her brothers were still alive. Their souls were likely still in those bodies. They might be overcome by the Behemoth’s control like the Dragon Spirits it controlled, but where there was life, there was hope.
“It’s been about an hour,” Valerius said.
“They still might come,” Caden said, though he didn’t sound very certain of it.
