I gasp as his words hit me square in the chest. There was never anyone else. The only girl he’s ever kissed is me.
“I…I thought…” I start, but I can’t manage to finish the sentence. I’m frankly blown away.He saved himself.
Tyler is a virgin?
Whoa.
“Well, you were wrong,” he says, dropping his gaze as he picks up the can of beans and pushes the spoon through it, stirring. “I only ever wanted you.”
I only ever wanted you too.The words are on the tip of my tongue, wanting desperately to get out. But for some reason, I can’t bring myself to say them. “I’m sorry,” I say instead. “For misjudging you.”
He bounces a shoulder. “I’m covered in tattoos, Avery. I get judged every day.”
“Still,” I say, leaving it at that as I pick up my dead phone and sigh, wondering when this mystical rescue of ours will ever come. “What time is it?”
"Just after three in the afternoon. Are you sure you don't want to eat something? At least drink some water?" Tyler's baritone bounces around the echoey room.
"No, thank you. If you get sick, we’ll need one of us alert and conscious enough to yell out when this rescue comes. And I think my curves will be enough to sustain me until then," I say, emphasizing my point by gesturing down my sides. "Besides, it's not like we're going to be trapped down here forever, right? Someone will come for us."
