“This Christmas, you’re mine,” I promise.

Now that I’ve seen her fall apart in my arms, I’m hooked. We only have a few more days together, and I want to memorize her body and learn all the ways to make her come.

“So definitely not my uncle then,” she sasses.

“You’re going to pay for that later,” I vow.

Oh, Holy Toys

We don’t talk much on the drive to the cabin as Christmas music drifts from the radio. Shep is focused on the winding road ahead, and I’m distracted by the earlier events.

The moment we shared in his office was the most erotic experience of my life—his finger stroking deep inside me, his breath hot against my neck, and his hard cock pressed against my thigh. I didn’t care that only a wall separated us from a room full of people—truthfully, the risk of being overheard only added to the thrill.

Part of me worries Shep might close off again, but I hope not because I’m ready for him to properly claim me tonight. An hour ago, he gave me an orgasm that left me reeling, yet my body still thrums with want. It’s been ages since I’ve experienced this kind of satisfaction, and now I’m so wound up and desperate for more, I can barely think about anything else.

As we round another bend, the cabin comes into view, and I gasp at the unexpected festive display before me. Strings of multicolored lights run along the roofline and frame eachwindow. A fresh wreath with a bright red bow hangs on the door, and a herd of metal reindeer twinkles with white lights on the front lawn, each wearing a Santa hat.

I clasp my hands together and squeal. “This is incredible. Who did all this?” None of these Christmas decorations were here when we left earlier, and Shep was with me all night.

He puts the truck into park, casting a soft smile my way. “Stewart, the owner of the hardware store, and his assistant set it up while we were gone.”

“It’s like a postcard come to life. I love it,” I exclaim.

“I’m glad, because it’s all for you,” Shep says.

My heart nearly leaps out of my chest. The man doesn’t celebrate Christmas, much less decorate, but he went out of his way to transform the house and yard into a winter wonderland simply because he knew it was important to me. The most touching part is that, despite knowing the display would only be up for a few days, he still went through all the trouble for no other reason than to make me happy —and that means everything.

Without thinking, I launch myself across the bench seat and into his lap, throwing my arms around his neck. “Thank you, Shep. This is the best surprise ever.”

He emits a soft grunt as I collide with him but quickly recovers, drawing me into his chest.

“You’re welcome, Sunshine.”

“How did they manage to get it done so fast, and in the dark no less?”

He runs his knuckle along my cheekbone. “I would’ve had it done sooner, but I had to wait for the storm to pass.”

That means he’s been planning this for days. Even before I agreed to stay, he was plotting how to turn the yard into a scene straight out of a Christmas movie, all because of me.

“It’s perfect timing,” I beam.

“There’s another surprise waiting for you inside,” he says softly.

I pull back to search his eyes, resting my hand on his chest. “What is it?”

“If I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise.” He presses a kiss to my temple. “Why don’t you go in and find out?”

I furrow my brow. “You’re not coming with?”

“Gotta tend to the animals, but I’ll be back soon.” He captures my mouth in a kiss that steals my breath. “You’d better wait for me, because I’ve got big plans for you.”

“What plans?” I murmur against his lips.

“Ones that involve you moaning my name till the sun comes up.”

My hand drifts higher along his thigh. “What if we started those plans now?”

“If I start now, I won’t be able to stop.” He brings my fingers to his mouth, grazing the tips with his teeth. “I’ll be back within an hour, and I promise I’ll make it worth your while.”
