He held her still above him for a moment, running his eyes over her every curve, every dip, his eyes lighting in such blatant approval that it shocked her that she could have such an impact on a man like him, who had the ability to charm any woman he’d like into his bed.

“You’re unbelievable, you know that, right?” he said. “Every bit of you. Inside and out.”

“You make mefeelbeautiful,” she said truthfully.

“Good,” he said, kissing her once on the lips before pulling her toward him, his mouth moving southward, flicking hernipples.

“Kneel over my head,” he commanded.

“What?” she said, shocked, but he just waited for her to comply, and she knew she couldn’t do any differently.

The moment she did so, warm hands came around her thighs and he began to kiss his way up her legs, finally stopping at her center.

“Tommy—” she said, but she could no longer speak when he began moving his tongue against her. She gripped the headboard behind him with her fingers as she leaned down toward him, needing more yet unsure if she could take it.

His strokes were long and slow, hitting every part of her, before he changed his pace to short licks, right where she needed him. He went up and down as pleasure ran through her body, her every breath focused on where he was touching her. Before she could stop it from coming as she would have preferred to enjoy this even longer, her body began to pulse, and she broke apart above him. Minnie cried out his name as her entire body seemed to lose feeling, as though she had taken too much in that moment.

“Oh, Tommy,” she breathed, scooting back down his body, careful not to touch any of his bruises. She barely had a moment to recover, however, until he was stroking himself beneath her, into the wet heat that had built at her core. For a man who normally appeared so carefree and jovial, to see the tense strain in his expression, she knew what he needed, and what he needednow.

She lifted herself overtop of him, letting him guide her with his hands on her hips, bringing his cock to her entrance as she settled down over him, and he let out a long expletive as he inched upward, filling her.

“Minnie,” he groaned. “Yes, Min.”

With slow rocking, moving her up and down, he eased into her as he began to kiss along her neck, her jaw, her mouth, taking her attention away from the overthinking of what she should do, allowing her to simplybethere in front of him.

“Are you ready?” he asked, and when she nodded, he began moving in and out, slowly at first, but then she began to find the rhythm herself, increasing in pace as his hips pumped to meet hers. Her hands came to his shoulders, bracing as she lost herself in the ride of her life.

He looked down to where they were connected, and Minnie was shocked when she felt her body beginning to coil again. She would never have thought it was impossible to experience it twice in one night, but here she was.

“Are you there, Min?” Tommy asked somewhat desperately, and she nodded as she met his gaze, her body agreeing with her.

“You’re perfect, Minnie,” he said, “Perfect for me.”

He thrust again as his hand wrapped around her thigh, holding her hip. His thrusts became faster, harder, his groans louder, until she fell apart again around him, tightening over him, even as their pace picked up. She cried out his name, wrapping her arms around him and biting down on his shoulder as he stilled against her, calling out her name as he came himself.

Finally, they fell against the bed, against each other. As they came down, Minnie could hardly believe that all they had thought about, worried about, worked toward had come down to this one moment.

“Are you all right?” Minnie asked, suddenly remembering the bruises that lined his body, the beating she had watched him take.

“Better than all right,” he said, managing a grin for her. “No doctor could prescribe better medicine.”

“I didn’t even know it was possible to feel like this,” she admitted with a smile of her own.

“I love you, Tommy.” The words spilled out, unbidden. That felt so good to voice aloud.

“I love you too, Min. So much.”

They lay in silence, simply enjoying being together. Minnie wondered whether Tommy had fallen asleep, but then felt his fingers stroking over her arm.

“I was so scared,” she admitted, finally allowing all her fears from earlier to flood back in, knowing that, for the moment at least, she was safe where she was, cocooned with Tommy in their bed.

“I know,” he said. “I was too. And I’m sorry.”

“For what?”

He lifted his head. “For what? For not protecting you as I was supposed to. For allowing you to be in that situation.”

“Tommy, I wanted to be in there with you to confront Jenkins. That was my doing. Not yours. And how did you ever think you would defend me against three armed men?”
