The flush coloring Lizzie’s cheeks presented his cue to leave. He did not want to know any more.
“Well, I’m going out. Catch you guys later.” He squeezed by Brute and fled to his Hummer. He pretended he didn’t hear Brute ask where he was going. Garth would be all too happy to fill them in. Before long, the entire pack would know.

Sebastian ran for the door, hoping like hell he hadn’t missed Kate. She headed to Castle most nights to be with her husband, Nick, and catching a ride with her would be easier than flying himself.
“Kate!” he called out as he entered the offices of Castle Air. “You here?”
“Yeah, out back.”
He headed out to the hangar where they stored the small planes of the Castle Air Fleet. He looked around. It took a moment to find her with her head buried in the engine of the Cessna.
“What’s up?” she asked without looking at him.
“Any chance I can catch a lift with you to Castle?”
This seemed to catch her attention. She looked at him, her brows bunched in confusion. “Why do you want to go there?”
“I’m meeting someone there tonight.” He’d suspected she wouldn’t agree without some explanation, so, hopefully, the half-truth would be enough.
“You’re meeting someone?” She stared at him for a few long moments then, suddenly, her face lit up with glee. “You finally took my advice.”
“Yeah,” he replied, not stupid enough to lie. “I contacted Madame Eve. I have a date tonight.”
“Well, congratulations. I’m sure she will have found you a great guy.” He hoped so. He didn’t have many options in his everyday life to meet men, and the few he had turned tail as soon as they got to know him better.
I’m not a freak. He had specific tastes, and there had to be one guy out there who wouldn’t be put off by him. There had to be.
“Well, as soon as I get this engine sorted and the tank filled with fuel, I’m heading out. You ready to go?”
“Do I have time to shower and change?”
“Ten to fifteen minutes.”
“Done. Don’t leave without me, please.”
“Not a chance. I want to meet the man Madame Eve has picked out for you.”
So did he, more than anyone knew.
