Reluctantly, Bethany got to her feet and headed for the bedroom, suddenly perversely pleased that the lack of door meant there would be a very real chance that he’d have to watch her get undressed.

‘I’ll see you in the morning before you go,’ he called after her, softly. ‘And Bethany…’

She turned back to face him as he trailed off, and caught a gentle smile on his lips. ‘What?’

‘I’ll be flying to Paris with you at the end of the week, too. And I happen to know that the hotel there has a spectacular swimming pool. If you’re interested.’

Her smile felt like it might take over her whole face. ‘I’ll bring my best bikini,’ she promised, and was rewarded with a look that could melt gold.

Bethany headed back into her room still grinning. She’d deal with Megan in the morning, find a way to get her out, if she needed it. Then she’d survive the interviews and the premiere and all the questions, and fly to Paris with Dylan, swim with him – and maybe more.

In fact, she was so busy imagining it, she almost missed Dylan’s low whisper.

‘Or you could just skip the bikini altogether.’

Heat filled her as she stepped towards the bed. She was on a promise for Paris. And she knew that Dylan’s promise was going to be enough to get her through whatever hell the next few days threw at her.

She might not even need the swim to release her tension after all.
