“Bring yo scary ass on. You looking for any reason not to walk out this house.” Not waiting on her to lie, I grabbed her hand and pulled her out the door. When we got downstairs, it looked like Pooh had aged ten years. Not acknowledging his scary ass, I walked outside. This time, Teelo was sitting on the steps.
“Looking at the footage, I know Storm didn’t kill my brother. If I lived another kind of lifestyle, I would walk away and accept what is. However, my brother was a chief. I can’t just let the shit slide that easy. I’m not a monster, so I find no pleasure in this.”
“Like I said, whatever you decide, it’s between me and you. Not her.” Teelo stood up and faced us.
“My brother died racing. It’s only right that I leave her fate in the hands of a race. If she beats me, she lives. If she don’t-…” He left the last part off, but we all understood what he meant. Ironically, Storm’s face lit up. She knew she could beat him, or at least she felt she could.
“Maybe I’m speaking in dumb. Or maybe you just can’t hear. Your beef is with me, not her. If a race is what you want, then you will be on the tracks with me.”
“And when you lose? Are you taking the bullet for her as well?”
“Like I said, your issue is with me. Are we talking or are we heading to the track?”
“Wait. I can beat him, Dodge. I know what you’re trying to do, and I swear I love you for it, but I know what that will mean. I can’t let you do that to yourself.” Not even looking her way, I walked back into the house. Going to the kitchen,I reached in the drawer and grabbed my keys. Heading to the garage, I looked up at the sky before pulling the tarc off my baby. My red Ferrari 250 GTO. I won it off some rich white prick when I was seventeen, and she was already perfect, but I tricked her out and made her unbeatable. It was part of the reason no one could touch me on the tracks.
Starting her up, I smiled at how quiet my bitch was. The way she purred under me; I knew my girl had missed me. Pulling down the visor, I grabbed my custom gloves Chevy had made for me, and I put them on before I pulled out of the garage. The look on Storm’s face let me know she knew the history and power behind this car. I told her she would cum if she ever saw my baby, and from the look on her face, she wanted to. Pulling over to them, I let my window down.
“Nigga, stop staring like a groupie ass bitch and let’s go. Storm, whatever happens, know I love you.” Winking at her, I let the window up and waited for Teelo to get in his car and follow behind me. When we drove off, I thought about the smirk my shorty wore on her face. She knew me saying that was only to throw Teelo off. There wasn’t a chance in hell he could beat me. He didn’t know who I was, but he was about to find out.
I could have let Storm race him because I was confident in her skills. However, I wasn’t built like that. This nigga thought he was gone come in my city and son me and my bitch. Shit wasn’t happening. That nigga was about to regret the day he ever stepped foot in Diamond Cove. When we got to the tracks, the other cars were already lining up. I put my name on the sheet and gave them Teelo’s. Pulling up to the line, I waited for the race to start.
“Chevy, I will never forgive myself for what happened that night, but I also won’t forget what you said. I’m The King and I can’t let niggas play in my face like shit sweet. I don’t know if I’ll ever feel comfortable racing again for fun, but this one is foryou. This is my do over. Love you, baby bro.” Looking up at the sky one last time, I watched as the handler made his way to the front of the cars. He dropped his flag, and the cars took off. Teelo pulled off so fast, he almost lost control right away. This was a six lap race, so I sat at the line allowing all the other cars to take off first. I was waiting for my baby to tell me when to pull off.
What I didn’t expect was to see Storm and that pink ass Hellcat pull up beside me. When I looked over at her, she blew me a kiss. After winking at her, we both pulled off. As if we were in sync, we hit the turns at the same time. The noses of our cars were symmetrical and that had my dick rising up. I had taught her well, and even though I didn’t want her out here on these tracks, she was sending me a message. We were one.
Lap after lap, we knocked our place in the race down passing car after car. We kept stealing glances at each other laughing and throwing signs to each other along the way. We had our blinders on, and nobody was out here but us. Two people, one couple, on the tracks having fun. We were a lap and a half away from finish, with Teelo ahead of us in first. Letting my window down, I signaled for Storm to do the same.
“One mile mark, no sight, drift home.” Smirking, she let her window back up and I did the same. As we approached the marker, we both hit our NOS and closed our eyes. Nothing else needed to be seen or said. I wasn’t worried about losing, and I knew she wasn’t either. I taught her every nook of this track, so I knew my girl was going to do what needed to be done.
No one ever believed me when I used to tell them my eyes were closed most of the race. Said it was too farfetched and I was trying to embellish, to create fear. They had no idea that when you did something for so long, you learned every second, turn, and groove. Knowing it was ten seconds left, I allowed my car to fishtail before cutting left. I knew that shit had to look sick as fuck with me and Storm drifting across the finish. When I stopped the car, me and Storm was identical and aligned perfectly. Getting out of the car, I walked over to her with a stiff dick in my pants and a proud look in my eyes. From the smile on her face, I knew she needed this. When I reached her, Teelo crossed the finish line causing us to laugh.
“I told yo bean head ass to stay at home.”
“And I told you, if I could live in yo ball sack, I would. Why would I let you die and not go with you.” I looked at her like she was crazy.
“You knew damn well I was winning this race.”
“Okay, I didn’t want to hear your mouth for the rest of our lives talking about you saved me. You cocky enough, and I was not about to let your ass be a self made martyr.” Shaking my head, I laughed at her ass. Teelo walked up, and I swear this nigga looked hurt.
“I’m a man of my word. You’re good to go back home.”
“Thank you, but I am home.” Teelo nodded at me and walked off. Grabbing my phone, I dialed one of the big homies.
“What up, Dodge.”
“Hey, Breed. I need to call in my favor.”
“Anything for you my nigga. What’s up?”
“This nigga named Teelo. You know him?”
“King Donny brother?”
“The one and only. He’s a problem, and I need my problem fixed.”
“Say less.” When I hung up the phone, I looked back at Storm.
“Now, you’re good to go back home whenever you want to visit. Cus make no mistakes, this really is your home.” Running to me, she jumped around my waist before placing a million kisses on my face. “Come on so we can go get my trophy and bread. I need some pussy.”
