Her cries of pleasure fill my ears as my movements become uneven.

“I’m coming, Ford, yes!” Emmy’s eyes on mine, her fingers tweak her nipples as she grinds herself against me and her pussy clamps down on my cock.

Without warning, my vision turns spotty, and my cock throbs as I come obscenely hard, filling her core with a stream of release. I’m panting as our gazes hold, lowering her legs to either side of my hips and leaning down to take her mouth in a leisurely kiss.

Then I roll to the side and slide off the bed. My feet take me to the only bathroom in the cabin, where I grab a towel and wet it beneath the faucet. When I get back to the bedroom, I gently clean between Emmy’s legs as she watches with pink cheeks that make me grin.

That damn blush.

Emmy leans forward to take the towel from my hands. “I’ll be back in a second.” I hear her moving toward the toilet, and despite having another far more elaborate plan in place that involves a trip to Paris, at this moment, I realize I’m done waiting.

The time or place will never be perfect, but I know in my heart that I found the perfect person a long time ago. Why wait any longer?

I quickly grab the navy box I’d stashed under the mattress, but before I have time to don a pair of Calvins, I hear Emmy making her way back to the bedroom.

“Screw it!” I mutter quietly under my breath as I drop to one knee and pop open the ring box in my hand – naked as the day I was born and no fucks to give about it.

Emmy stops short when she re-enters the bedroom, her hand flying up to her astonished mouth as her eyes widen in surprise.

And before my courage can flee, I say the first thing that comes to my head. Words directly from my heart.

The one she’s owned for far longer than I’d admit.

“Givin’ my heart to you was the best decision I ever made. And while I can’t promise our life together will always be easy, Icanpromise that I will always love you, because fallin’ in love with you came to me as instinctively as breathin’. And I’m gonna spend the rest of our lives lovin’ you the way you deserve to be loved.”

Tears fill her bright blue eyes as her breaths come in short gasps, and suddenly it’s hard to speak past the ball of emotion that’s lodged in my windpipe.

“Say you’ll marry me, Tink. Say you’ll be my wife. Say you’ll allow me to love you forever.”

Emmy’s eyes shift from mine to the emerald-cut diamond ring nestled within the navy box before she returns them to mine, and I watch as they widen incredulously.

“But…I’m naked.”

My mouth parts in a wide grin as I chuckle. “And I’m askin’ you to marry me.”

She blinks once, twice. “But…you’renaked!”

“And I’m still askin’, baby.” I shake my head before shrugging. “The time or place doesn’t matter. Same goes for my state of undress. The question remains the same. Will you marry me?”

Her mouth spreads in a smile as she shakes her head, making her half-dried bedraggled blonde hair even messier.

“This willnotbe the story we tell when anyone asks how you proposed, you get me?”

At my nod, she giggles as she extends her left hand, wriggling her ring finger excitedly.

“In that case, I thought you’d never ask.”

I slip the ring out of the box and hold it up into the light, allowing her to see the inscription on the inside of the platinum band.

My first. My last. My always.

Her voice breaks as she reads it out loud, and I barely manage to slide it onto her finger before our lips meet. And as our bodies profess the love we both have for one another, I feel a bone-deep sense of happiness overtake me, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt thatthisis precisely what the universe had always intended for us.

We’re exactly where we’re supposed to be.
