Iwas desperate now, andIground my hips into his face.Islid my hands through his hair, holding him to me tighter as he continued to fuck me with his tongue.

“Abraxas, please…”Heshifted his hands, one pulling me to him even closer, and the other replaced his tongue, filling me as he slipped his fingers back inside.Hewrapped his lips around my clit one last time and sucked while flaying me with his tongue, and my body released.

Itwas unlike anythingI’dhad before.Everymuscle of my body worked as a symphony, playing in harmony as they contracted and released.TheclimaxI’dmissed and the oneIhad now played together to give me something greater than the sum of its parts, as stars danced before my eyes and my skin flushed red.

HowlongIlay just panting and riding my waves of ecstasy,Idon’t know.Whenmy mind came back to my body, he had crawled back onto the bed with me, lying by my side again.Itried to move my arms to reach him, but it was like the signal from my brain was cut off, andIcouldn’t move.Heseemed to read my thoughts, and a smile lit up his face.Atrue smile, not his usual smirk, and gods was he beautiful like that.

Ifinally willed my hand to move, andIcaught his face beneath my fingers, tracing the lovely curve of his cheekbone and jaw.Hiseyes turned soft, and he leaned in and kissed me gently.Icould taste myself on him, but the gentleness of the kiss made this moment, wrapped in his arms, feel much more intimate than when his head had been between my legs just moments before.Iallowed myself to soak in the gentleness of the moment beforeIstarted tracing my hand down his chest to find his pleasure.ButasIdid, he caught my hand in his, lacing our fingers together.Ireleased our kiss, giving him a frown.

Hegave another soft chuckle, “Littlebird,Iwill have you in every way imaginable.Butwe have time.Fornow, you need sleep.”Helet his eyes slowly rove my body, and it made goosebumps rise all over me. “Besides,Iget the feeling your legs aren’t working properly right now, andIwant you at your best for whatIhave planned.”Hiseyes glimmered with mischief, truly a fae king.Hewas right.WhileIhad gained control of my arms, my legs were still unresponsive,Iwas barely able to get a twitch out of them as they continued to throb.

“Sleepnow,Tori.”Herolled me over, so my back was pressed against him, and he stroked my hair and ear softly.Heheld me so close, likeIwas a precious treasure he had finally added to his horde, and a part of me wondered if he truly would never let me go.Ipushed down the little voice who said,Ihope not.

Aftera few moments,Ifelt him press a soft kiss to the point of my ear, and felt his breath deepen.Ilooked out his grand windows, and the sky was alight with green and blue light, ribbons that stretched across the sky dancing and intertwining with each other.Iwatched for a few moments, then let my eyes drift closed and fell asleep next to a man for the first time in my long life.

Chapter36

Tori

WhenIwoke, the curtains had been drawn to give me darkness.Icould see the bright sun peeking around the edges, andIknew it was past noon.Ishifted and found a fluffy linen duvet pulled over me and tucked in to keep me warm.Iflipped over in the bed, hoping to find him there, butIknew he had already left.Thefire had been left on in the hearth, andIsaw my robe lying over the winged chair next to it.Mydestroyed underwear was nowhere to be seen.

Islipped out of bed, my legs wobbling horribly asIstood.Idonned my robe, and whenIgrabbed it, a little white note fluttered to the ground.

LittleBird,

Apologiesfor not being there when you awoke, butIwas called away.Shouldyou have need of anything, please call onCiaraand she will provide anything you need.Trynot to snoop too much.

~Abraxas

Myfingers traced where he signed his name.Seeingit there so plainly twisted my stomach.Werewe on a first name basis now?Mymind raced back to the previous night, my legs wobbling again at the memory.Itseemed so.

Mynose twitched at his mention of snooping.Ofcourse,Iwas going to snoop,Ijust hated how he always seemed to know my moves beforeIdid.Ifolded the note up and tucked it in my pocket, running my finger over whereIknew his name was one last time.Ourgame had become much more dangerous now.

Ipushed that thought back in my mind whereIkept all the other undesirables, and instead walked over to his bookshelves to snoop.Mostof the booksIfound were recounts of ancient battles or books on war strategy.Notso surprising for a general,Isupposed.Afew books on the history of the continent, and one that looked relatively new on the history ofNiata.Interesting.Wellnot really,Ihad read that particular book in my studies as a youngling, and it was quite boring in my opinion, but interesting it was there.

Afterseveral more shelves of war strategy,Isaw a small section of fiction.Mostseemed to be of the genre man versus nature.Notreally my preferred reading soIhadn’t read any of them before, butItook note of the title and author to see ifIcould grab copies later.Atthe end of the row, a little red book with no title caught my eye.Icarefully pulled it out.Thecover simply readPoemsbyBalthazarRuin, an authorIhad never heard of.Icracked open the book for it to naturally fall open at a dog-eared poem, the spine worn as if it had been opened to this page many, many times.Thepoem was titledUpontheWind.

Onwings of freedom soaring high,

Amidstthe boundless, open sky,

Whereendless seas meet endless blue,

Thecall of freedom rings anew.

Butin the distance, shadows grow,

Adarkness stirring deep below,

Andin the heart of sea and sky,

Agreat unrest begins to fly.

Yetstill the sky is vast and wide,

Thesea, a never-ending tide,

Andfrom the depths of darkened days,
