I sighed.
We all ate in silence for a while, lost to our own freaked-out thoughts. Griffin pressed his thigh to mine, rubbed his hand along my leg a few times.
Finally, I said,
Griffin asked.
Layla bubbled with a laugh that sounded slightly unhinged.
Griffin scowled at her.
He turned his face toward mine.
I smiled, the first real, happy one of the day. At least we knew we were allowed to openly be together in this reboot too.
